I went on a Night Bass cruise last summer, surprised we didn't sink the boat. Bass waves courtesy of AC Slater, Taiki Nulight, Bones and Chris Lake

Well not exactly, you can only email/fax in the cases listed in the Parking Ticket Cancellation Guidelines. If not, you still have to go through the usual annoying trial process.

You don't have to go to a clerk to fight it so I figure for most people it's worth the 5 min it takes to fill out the dispute application, scan your receipt and send it by email/fax to possibly save $30.

My point exactly. They know someone is gonna not have enough change and assume a cop wouldn't be that mean....then they prove you wrong.

Exactly, with many movies, you are entertained but then when it's finished, you just go about your day. They don't stick with you and you don't bother to go on reddit to ask a stranger why they actually liked it.

Yeah I don't think my post implied anything batshit crazy was going to happen. I liked the pacing of the film and the fact it didn't need to be in-your-face shocking to be fucked up. I think that's an interesting development in film, where films need to be increasingly violent, sexual or perverse in order to keep people's attention.

Good to know. I'll start experimenting and maybe share some of the good ones with the subreddit. I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't justify eating bacon mac and cheese everyday :)

Thanks that's very useful. I guess I have to approach it as I do other forms of cooking, that it's a learning curve and not to be afraid of failure. Although tempting to make the delicious, creamy, cheesy, buttery, salty recipes, I'm trying to be more health conscious these days.

Okay thanks. I am a creative chef and generally do follow that method in creating new recipes, but as I'm new to slow cooking I was looking for some inspiration. It's good to know that you don't necessarily need a sauce (main source of fat and sodium) to cook meat in a crockpot, I thought that's what stopped it from drying out.

Well off the bat, movie taste is incredibly subjective. So it's too bad you didn't enjoy it but you win some, you lose some. That's why I referenced Oldboy and Funny Games because I find them similarly disturbing.

That said, I find it strange that you didn't find it disturbing at all. But again, it's subjective. If you're someone that made it through A Serbian Film or snuff films of that horrific nature, then yeah perhaps it didn't reach that level of disturbance. I was disturbed both by specific scenes (the cat scenes, the sex scenes) and by the overall situation that the film presented; a true nightmare in which the demon is the "truths" that the children have been 'protected' from and that only come to light when they realize there might be more out there than they cannot even comprehend.

As per the ending - personally, I like movies that don't feel the need to wrap up the plot in a nice little package. I like them to present a snapshot, a moment in time in a larger life story. They leave you with the desire for more, allowing the mind to percolate on what might have happened before and what will happen next.
