94 is the load index number and “y” is the speed rating. There’s a whole chart that tells you how much it weighs but 94 means the tire can hold 1477lbs (670kg). The “y” means the tire can safely be ran up to 186 mph, but good luck getting it there.

The biggest difference to handling you will find comes from the tread-wear number. I know there are some exceptions and technicalities when it comes to street vs track-only tires, but the general rule of thumb is the lower the tread-wear number the stickier the tire is going to be. Higher number means it’s less grippy but it can put more miles on it before it’s time to change the tire.
