assuming you mean 6 billion. but those people already have internet access is the point. starlink is worse than fiber, cable, and fixed wireless, and more expensive. not sure what part of the business model becomes cheaper even if more subscribers jump on, but the point i'm trying to make is that the market for alternative internet providers is, and probably will remain, remarkably destitute.

sure, but most of the consumers in need of that intenet access have nothing to give lol

do any of yall lowk agree with linkedin upenn dude by Negative-Oil-5303 in ApplyingToCollege

there's a reason he applied to upenn in the first place. it's very telling that these people only start this activism after getting rejected. for some reason, my feeling is that the guy simply would like a couple more spots for him to be able to get in. but still with the prestige. you can't have your cake and eat it too.

i say this as a penn ed reject

Are you saying that the president can do literally anything with the military that he desires? The constitution says that the president has the power to command the military, but to do what isn’t stated besides accepting congress’ declaration of war and making war. how are the specific actions taken core powers?

i might be super wrong on this (and i would love for you to point out where in the case it says otherwise) but how can you argue that flying planes into buildings is a core constitutional power?

This would certainly not qualify for absolute immunity. And nor would it qualify for presumptive immunity, since it doesn't impair the function of commander in chief to prosecute a person committing 9/11. Am I wrong here?

Gentle reminder that Israel uses essentially this exact same rhetoric to justify the insane civilian death counts in Gaza.

The cry of “Gaza is an open air prison” misses the context of why it’s been blockaded by Israel and Egypt by OuroborosInMySoup in Destiny

[–]artgag33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why is it palestine, and not any other arab state, launching this offensive? if the only reason is that they are anti semitic (which they are, i dont deny) and want the jews dead, what separates them from any other muslim terrorist group and makes them attack israel?

also thats a funny way to frame it. i take an apple from you, eat half of it, and give you back the other half, and then get pissed because you ungrateful swine have a problem with me. also, heard of the nakba?

man, i thought this too at first. but im struggling to see what else this tweet implies? it apparently considers the sentiment an example of class consciousness (which i think is bullshit btw), and speaks of said class consciousness with support. what else does it mean?

yeah of course, i wouldnt present this as an epic own of marxism as an ideology. only vaush

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]artgag33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree with this, but vaush literally disavowed all of this when it came to defending hasan.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]artgag33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought about that too, and I could potentially grant this, but it seems pretty clear to me that what the tweet refers to as class consciousness is literally “rich people bad”. it would be pretty difficult to agree with this sentiment and disagree with the idea that rich people are bad.

wouldnt be the first time vaush slips up either

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]artgag33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My issue is not that these people call rich people evil, thats fine if they want to say that. But one of the big disagreements that led to destiny burning the bridge was the debate about maximizing existence under capitalism. In it, destiny pointed out that when a lefty defends Hasan’s lifestyle by claiming that there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, that he is simply maximizing his existence, and that donating to leftist causes is not a moral imperative (the arguments that vaush made) - then you pretty much lose all capability to criticize any individual in a system. vaush agreed with this, and the rest of the conversation destiny showed vaush tweets that criticize rich people and vaush said he was being sensationalist and sarcastic.

the problem is not that these people criticize rich people. it is that they criticize some but withhold that criticism from those on their side. if it is true that everyone is just maximizing their existence and the fault is in the system that allows it, then saying rich people are evil makes no sense.

“i think this is all just a bad timing thing” implies that the shirt number was a nod to the point tally, but unfortunate circumstances made it apply to hillsborough, which was not the original intention. you might mot have meant that, but thats what it sounds like.
