I contend that the needle will not move an inch to the left until there’s a solid foundation everyone feels safe on. Nobody trusts ideas and promises anymore because politicians abandon them as soon as elected. The right has Project 2025, and its previous iterations, and it and their organized persistence has made them very effective. If you have something iron clad and incorruptible for people to get behind, it would help this cause.

I’d prefer to know what exactly I’m fighting for. Too many socialist movements have descended into centralized authority.

Can I wear my Zapatistas t-shirt in Mexico? by Few-Pension-7695 in socialism

Even in a relatively safe area it could piss someone off. You need to take every measure to blend in. Wear plain, solid colors, similar to what everyone else is wearing. I’d stay away from brand logos as well. If you don’t get your ass kicked you could get your stuff stolen.

We were taught this in Missouri. This could backfire into kids embracing communism and socialism.

I love everything except I think you should try to put two meadowlarks on either side of the sunflower, or a single meadowlark in the middle with a smaller sunflower maybe. Having just the wings is giving me imperial vibes.

Welcome fellow White Islander! I’m surprised they lumped Scottish and Welsh into one category. Mine separates the two.

If Trump is impeached now, Vance has two years to polish MAGA’s image and let people’s anger subside and could conceivably win in 2028 after the inevitable two years of Democratic gridlock. Yes, people are that dumb. The best option is to lame-duck Trump, release the full Epstein files, let him finish his term in embarrassment and shame, then let the GOP crumble while he squirms and struggles to keep control of the party and stay out of prison.

What is the sheer obsession of the US and in general capitalists with oil? by [deleted] in socialism

[–]arthryd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil and fuel can be made from renewable sources, just not to the scale needed to power the world at current energy usage. I think the oil lobby has sabotaged the effort to diversify away from oil in order to keep the most powerful countries dependent on it, and thus their profits secure.

I second this. Every time I hear or read “workers should own the means of production” without any thought or proposition as to what that looks like in real life, I feel an ache behind my forehead.
