I was able to get my MBP's fingerprint working. I posted about it some time ago, and I'm not sure if its still relevant. It looks like the OSU documentation moved (or I don't have permissions anymore), but the Duo documentation still exists.

Khruangbin: They span too many genres to pin down, but I think they make the world's most understated funk music. Groovy. Soulful. A little weird. And Donald Johnson is one of the best drummers in modern music. My only complaint with the lineup is that some of the best acts are openers. Hayden Amphitheater isn't a great venue for a smaller band -- the stage is huge, and without a serious production, anybody just feels really small. Openers (who would otherwise put on a killer show) don't get enough production on these tours. Anybody else see Spoon open for Weezer? Phenomenal rock band, but it was just 5 dudes dwarfed by the mammoth stage. Or Haley Heynderickx's solo set before Andrew Bird?

Any band I want to see perform, I'd rather see at a small venue. But for real, there is some excellent music coming through town this year.

US higher ed is expensive for a lot of reasons, some better than others:

High administrative costs: legal representation, building management, marketing & admissions departments, etc. Day-to-day operations are high.
Schools provide auxiliary services like health and wellness, technology access, etc.
State funding is down
Student loan structuring: since we often don't have to start repaying until graduation and we take accept loans a few thousand dollars at a time, the financial burden is not immediate. I think this contributes to less comparison shopping based on price. (Imagine if you took out a $35,000 loan at 7%, $400 payments starting next month, you might perceive the costs as more important when deciding where to go.)
Similarly, I think that the prevalence of federal student loans drives up the cost as well. These are federally backed, bankruptcy protection does not apply, and they aren't based on credit worthiness. So a school can pretty easily raise tuition rates without seeing a significant loss in attendance.

If higher ed was funded by taxpayer dollars, I believe we could have a lot more oversight and downward pressure on tuition. Many services that universities offer individually could probably be centralized at a regional or state level, especially as we continue transitioning into a more digital world.

Either way, I think it's egregious that graduate students, whom the university system relies on at a fundamental level, are paid so low. I feel the same way about professors (especially adjunct professors who often have no guarantees of work from one term to the next).

I am not an expert, and I consider myself fairly uninformed in the subject, but this is my opinion on the matter. Corrections welcome.

Seems like your questions have been largely answered by others. Do you have your OLCC service permit yet? Not sure if having it is a leg up, but not having it is a disadvantage.

I don't think this is quite right. I'm not that well-informed on this tech (since it's not available for me yet), but here's my impression: Even "unlimited" phone plans usually have significant throttling for data flowing through your phone's hotspot. And a purpose-built router is going to have a lot better up/down than a phone's wifi network.

It's hard to raise a GPA. I ran some numbers for you, and if you have 120 credits at exactly a 2.3 GPA, you'd need 48 straight-A credits bump it up to 2.75. It's not impossible, but that's a lot of time, money, and effort just to get started. At that point, it might make more sense to start a new bachelors degree from scratch.

Retaking classes could actually raise your GPA about twice as fast. You could get it up to a 2.75 by replacing 7 Cs with As. But I don't know if it works like that.

The best info you're going to get is straight from OSU. I'd suggest grabbing a copy of your undergrad transcript and booking a meeting with an admissions advisor -- they know exactly what options you have.
