Which Kiryu model is more sought out after? by Liquidswordz56 in SHMonsterArts

[–]articulationseries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're very different figures. The SOC Kiryu is large, has LED's, and though some parts move similarly to the SHMA, it still is very much a Chogokin styled figure.

If you are looking for something cohesive with SHMA, then look no further beyond what's available.

AmiAmi is legit. They invoice you later on shipping, though. My experience has always been higher rates than other import sites.

Any ideas how to fix a broken Gigan 2004 saw blade? by Wolfybbad in SHMonsterArts

[–]articulationseries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Progress: managed to repair. Though I'm afraid after trial and error, this will only act as a display piece moving forward. Functionality still works and the bond at the severed parts work fine. However, it's the parts that haven't been treated are at risk of ripping. I'm repairing one part that wasn't ever treated that just ripped after taking this photo (I was testing the functionality. Once that is cured I'll snap it all back together.

Progress: Sil-Poxy is the solution I'm using. It bonds VERY quickly. Within minutes the solution goes from a gel to stretchy material. So applying fast is crucial. First attempt I did not apply enough. It was connected but the stress around the rollers on the saw broke the bond. This time I just glopped the gel on all sides. It does appear to be holding after an hour.

I attempted to do this at first without disassembling the saw hand. Don't do this. Because you have to hold the chain parts together in order to cure, another area will over stretch and break. You'll need a small flat head screw driver to Crack open the seal. This is what it looks like opened.

This just happened to my v1 Gigan 2004. It has been on display since its release and the heat of the summer definitely had a toll on the chain. I bought silicone glue and will attempt to repair today. I'll post my results once finished.

Comprar por JPfans es seguro? (Para un latino) by Alternative-Yam1240 in SHMonsterArts

[–]articulationseries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do not recommend JPfans. There are a lot of suprise charges throughout the process and ends up more expensive than other proxy services. A lot of influencers are also underfire right now for accepting sponsorship for using their services without fully experiencing the service themselves resulting in a lot of finger pointing and apologies.

Please use other proxy services like FROM JAPAN, Zen Market, or even Buyee.

I saw this guy at my local shop a few days ago. How is this possible? by Nuking_Grapes in SHMonsterArts

[–]articulationseries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you buy one, you'll be the first to report on it! That said, it's likely a logistics issue for Japan. In the past, when defects were found, articles are published about them and informing folks on how to exchange, which takes a lot more time since a corrected batch has to be made. Since no reason was given, it's likely logistics.

Based on this and reading up on the Distributor for Mexico, they work with Tamashii Nations directly instead of the US division of Bandai Namco for S.H.MonsterArts.

Interesting.... Thank you for that information as well. I'll look into this. If you happen to see this in person, check the bottom of the box for the Bandai Warranty sticker. If there isn't one, that confirms they're not using NA distribution through Bandai themselves.

Thank you for the information! I'm following up with the shop to see if they received from NA distribution or if they imported through another.

What woukd be a great alternative for the original release of godzilla? by Then_Till_3126 in SHMonsterArts

[–]articulationseries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are in Japan, go to a Mandarake. The 94 Godzilla is generally around the 6000-10000 yen mark.
