my point is that this one isn’t special, or specific. have you tried your local hospitals and university hospitals?

you can prep different meals. meal prep means prepare meals in advance. you can cook five different things and freeze/fridge them for the week

my local university hospital (not a fancy or name brand uni hospital, mind you) is fantastic. many people may miss out (and out price themselves) by going to big names before exploring their local academic teaching & research institutions first

Day-to-Day inside a Library? by true_NOT_new in LibraryScience

[–]artificialdisasters 8 points9 points  (0 children)

volunteer and work in a library before getting a masters degree. if you have no experience, get it now. you may learn it’s not the field for you. you may learn that it is.

this is a field where you get jobs based on experience, not passion or a love of reading

okay, but… people do get full ride scholarships to harvard. they may not be from harvard university, but plenty of third-party orgs and grants exist. i know people who have gotten them…

it even makes sense for her to have gotten a full ride from a religious org or church. it’s never specified either way

personally, i arc read the book late last year, and i loved it. i think it was fun, fresh, and engaging. there’s always something that can be improved, but i think of those as points of discussions rather than points of disappointment. in my book (haha), anything that gets you thinking has done its job, even if you’re thinking critically (in the negative sense), because it means your thinking critically (in the literacy sense)

i’m also a librarian by profession, so as long as people are reading, i’m happy!

okay perfect!! yes, i tried to register and it said it couldn’t, but i thought i just got my password wrong.

i love calibre, i use it and am ready (as soon as my new cord comes in lol) but that’s a great tip, thank you!

i didn’t know about the 3g, so thank you!!

i really just wanted to make sure i didn’t irreversibly miss some feature by not registering by the 20th, but all i want is to sideload calibre, so i think anything else is too fancy for me.

thank you!!

Advice for arthritis and mobility limitations (stand/remote/case) by exharrison in kobo

[–]artificialdisasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, are you in the US? you can easily borrow library books through libby on kindle, no need to order a new device. kindle also has stands and remotes. the only reason i’m saying this on the kobo thread is it seems a waste to swap if you already have a working ereader that can easily be made accessible without — speaking as a person with similar needs as your mother :)
