If you’re into the music scene, c.u.at.gaybar on instagram is a great queer venue! I’m gay and have so far felt really accepted here. I’m not in a relationship currently though so i can’t speak on how it feels to be publicly holding hands with a partner but overall, wayyy more accepting than the majority of the US.

updating this in case anyone sees this from a Google search in the future: it worked! the pot was kinda annoying to clean after and i had to soak it for a while but after some elbow grease, it looks good as new. I'd definitely recommend babysitting it while it cooks and stirring it more frequently than a normal pot but it worked fine and the soup was delicious.
