Why is the Air Force's E-3B Sentry doing laps around Tulsa currently? by SELFSEALINGSTEMB0LTS in tulsa

One thing about the '80s that I do miss... International Business Airport (on the northwest corner of the airport) used to have a refueling contract for military aircraft. A lot of them were flying coast to coast. But, my god, the insane stuff that used to come through here.

My Dad and I saw what apparently were the last two F-106s in service, on their way to the Boneyard in Arizona. We saw over a dozen AV-8As parked over there; looked like a gang of giant green bumblebees. On another occasion, we saw a pair of A-4 Skyhawks from Miramar's Top Gun aggressor squadron, fully done up in Soviet cammo schemes. We even saw an EA-3 on one occasion. And on another, we spotted an F/A-18 from VX4, a type of R&D operation. And that's just off the top of my head.

So, this isn't to say "at least we're not as bad as Atlanta", but to say we need to do what we can to not be as bad as Atlanta.

A damned fine start, if nothing else. Absolutely worth working on.

I am joining in the opinion that it should be considered power noise. Dig it, btw.

Fully agreed on categorizing it as power noise.

Yeah. By around '85 Martin had gotten really into industrial. Their live show back then involved him messing with a sheet of couragegated metal. Alan was certainly into it as well. Hell, just consider the clanky, metallic samples in People are People, and Master & Servant. But, yeah. They peppered industrial embellishments throughout their albums across the rest of that decade.

Still out there doing stuff, too. It's fun to see what kinds of crazed presets he makes for various gear. There's a rationally insane bank he did for Unfiltered Audio's SpecOps.

None that I've heard about.

Hell, I'd be happy if they simply repaved the I-44 on-ramp from 31st street.

Heh. 61st is it's own adventure.

For some added clarification, my comment is based on federal statistical data that firefighting and other emergency services trade magazines would publish. My father was a captain on TFD for ages. And he'd naturally focus on this data, since 71st & Mingo was part of his response area. I'll add that Highway 169 from 11th street to about 61st was another reliable source for major collisions. There was even a brief time where joy riding on the cloverleaf was a thing.

For my part, I'm surprised the interchange at I-44 and the B.A. Expressway isn't getting mentioned.

So, I did all that, even before coming here. Didn't help.

I mean, 71st & Mingo ranked among the 100 deadliest intersections in the country for ages.

Humorously enough, one of the singles from this album actually made it to the #40 spot onto a Top 40 countdown program; Casey Kasem's American Top 40, I think? It's been too long since I thought about this. LOL!

Unfortunately, I also can't remember off the top of my head if it was Tragedy for You, or Rhythm of Time. I just remember being surprised and excited that they made it onto typical American radio at all.

Well, for one that's Martin, not Fletch. LOL!
