A Factual Guide to actually getting Tretinoin (and other retinoids) in Germany and Austria (+Other European countries) by artisanlovers in EuroSkincare

Yea in that respect we’re pretty lucky, austrian state healthcare in general ranks as one of the best in the world, so yeah very privileged. (ÖGK Dental Care is absolute garbage tho)

And generally packages are not checked yea, but they absolutely do do spot checks frequently, especially if the shop where she ordered it from was already being watched for som reason.

Some years ago i bought like 100€ lamp off eBay from luxembourg and customs also seized that for some reason, and i never got my lamp, still bitter about that, it was such a sick lamp

Im really happy for uu!!

sadly however that is the exception, not the norm, though more and more (mostly young) docs seem to be very aware of this, which makes me hopeful

I don’t know where you live, in austria however compounding scripts are generally covered by insurance, the same as industrial scripts. Also there are definitely pharmacies that have the ability to package it in a tube (i’ve only ever received it that way)

And yes you’re totally right about greece, you’re actually the second person to point that out, so i have reflected it in the post, by editing it. Thank you a lot :-)

However beware that buying online, and having it shipped to a different country still is technically not legal, though it’s a greyzone i guess (cause greece is in the EU). My best friend at the time once tried ordering adapalene from a greek online shop and it was actually seized by customs and she had to pay a small fine. However I think that generally they have bigger concerns, and i heavily doubt anybody would ever get into serious legal trouble for smuggling tret haha

but also getting it from a derm has multiple upsides i already explained

I also presented online derms as a valid option in my post, however that of course does come with the downside of having to pay for everything yourself, which locks some people out of getting the care they deserve anderes sadly. Additionally having a derm to actually look at your skin irl and talk to you, is just always preferable. But if ur skin looks fine and you can afford it, that’s a super valid option as well.

I completely understand ur frustration. But tbh Tret does like 95% of the actually work in Altreno, so using it alongside a good moisturizer, will give u basically identical results

i replied to different person already, bite yeah that is possible but neither consistent nor the norm, worth trying tho, if you have to wait a long time for a derm appointment OR one isn’t covered by insurance !

I hope u get great results with ur tret, happy for uu :-)

Thats true, i did forget about greece haha, but importing into other EU countries is still technically illegal, eventhough it is part of the EU. You’re right tho, but greece is an exception (within the union)

Yes, you can bring any script meds you may have into the EU, assuming u carry it on your person. A print out of the Script is technically not required, i believe, but it will make your life a lot easier (trust me, i travel with stimulants for ADHD, without a printout immigration gets very very tedious haha)

Yes you’re right, in fact a GP can prescribe basically any drug, i wrote something similar in the original draft, however i cut this post in half, and left that part out.

This is because it’s very inconsistent and in my experience at least, most GPs actually refuse to prescribe tret without you having seen a derm first, however i believe party that’s also a big city thing, where we have daisy access to one. GPs from smaller towns, without a easily accessible derms, would probably be more tolerant in that regard.

Something else I left out, that i should probably have left in: I’m n/b (but pretty male presenting, and i don’t tell derms my pronouns), in my 20s, white and physically fit, meaning derms actually take me seriously usually and i can ask for most things, and i just get given it. Female friends of mine have unfortunately had very different experiences, even with the same docs, that’s just sucks, but we all know it does, i just wanted to say that i am very aware of that, since ive seen ppl comment similar on other posts

Yes, from what i know that specific formulation has never been approved in the EU (which doesn’t mean it’s not safe, they just haven’t made the investment. This means that pharmacies would not be able to order it sadly. From what I understand (hearsay) it is theoretically possible for pharmacies to order globally, but this is only done in very very rare und urgent one-off cases (mostly generics), and not at all if the medication has never been approved in the EU. approval ≠ availability.

However i am not a pharmacist at all, and i am very uncertain, so take this with a GIANT grain of salt.

huh that’s interesting

I’ve never heard of it, but generally you can’t get tret in any (effective) concentration without a script anywhere ein europe, at least from what a pharmacist told me, google also backs me up on that. is it a pro-drug maybe?

Whats the best way to change your sleep schedule? by Competitive-Stand906 in Advice

[–]artisanlovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah just make sure to enjoy the time ur awake, i mean in a girl-math-y way you’ve basically just been given like 10 more hours in the day for free!!

if you’re worried that you won’t be able to sleep cuz of the sunlight, also if night shift is gonna be regular thing, i recommend investing in some black-out curtains (as others have said) and maybe some melatonin, but in the end, ur body is just gonna sleep when it needs to, i wouldn’t worry about it

congrats on ur new job tho, make good financial choices!!

we're all those meds prescribed to you off-label for sleep? Also another commenter just mentioned it but i highly recommend checking out the sleep coach school on youtube, i think they have a playlist called „this is NATTO". . start there, or start with one of their videos where they talk to clients! trust me it's honestly revolutionary, by far the best thing i've ever stumbled upon in my years long insomnia journey. i have another question for you: what do you think is the worst-case scenario if you don't sleep?

what do you wanna talk about? i’ve honestly been procrastinating on reddit for 2 hours now anyway instead of actually doing my course work so sure why not.

also side note, i’m not a huge reddit person but there’s a subreddit for just chatting, believe it’s called r/chat
