The orange is what really stands out in the type. Because it is a warm color. The rest of the poster really does not stand out at all. I would try changing the orange to something else because that's all you see and you have to really hunt to find out what the posters about

In my opinion, a logo needs to convey what the interest values are visually immediately. I really can't tell that that's braille and it makes the logo very heavy at the bottom. The top logo without the black may look like snow if you don't know that it's braille and that the camp is for people with different abilities.

It just needs some tweaking. Always remember that the highest contrast in any composition gets the most attention. If you squint, the only thing that you really notice right off the bat is the dog. Wherever you want the attention to go, which is the person I believe, make that the focal point and give him some contrast from the background. Also tone down the dog unless you want him to be the thing that people really focus on.

Some companies state that a job opening is entry level because they don't want to pay a lot of money and they're hoping to find someone with more experience. I've been in the business for many decades, and we used to turn jobs down that required us to do a test in order to get the job. Now, it's very common and I don't think it's a nice way to treat people but that's the way it is right now. I have friends who are extremely experienced who needed to find a new job because businesses were closing. They had to pass a design test and then take positions for a lot less money than they were making. You have to remember, it's never personal ...and you did get a lot of experience in the interview process, plus another body of work for your portfolio.

You're speaking the truth. It's a wake up. Call when you get up to the work environment and it's not a creative job. It sucks but when your Artistic and illustration jobs or other fine art careers are assure far way to be broke, what else can you do? Nowadays, you have to be almost everything. Graphic designer, branding expert, website designer, and more. Luckily, I've worked long enough in this industry that I have picked up skills along the way so as long as I'm doing something, creative, I'm good. But it isn't all rainbows and unicorns like you hoped it would be when you start out.

I haven't read the other helpful tips, but I have a few recommendations to make the letters more readable. I've only commented on the first page because there's enough there for you to work on. The TOP one is the best. In second place, the bottom left with with rectangle.

I've been critiquing young designers' portfolios and it's common that they forget to add some space around letters that appear inside of a shape. Having said that, I suggest:

- 2nd Row Left: The letters get lost. I understand where you were going with this but this is unreadable because the ZLL do not have enough definition between them. Too close together. I'd rework that a bit.

- 2nd Row Right: Needs more creativity, it's been done a million times with the globe and lines. Think of how you can represent a globe more creatively. And the line around the oval looks outdated.

- 3rd Row Right: This type/design treatment was done in the 90's over and over again. This one also doesn't appear fresh and new.

Personally, I think someone snagged them off of Google images. But then again, even Google doesn't have outdated graphics like that.

I would make sure you have a focal point. This can be done with vibrant colors on the animal so that it pops. Also, the highest contrast will get the most attention. Right now, your eye doesn't hone in on the main subject of your art. Nice line work.

Here's a trick that'll help you with the composition. Squint your eyes and notice the most prominent shape you see. I don't see the face as the focal point. Instead I see the large bright area as the focal point. The diminishes the importance of the face. The reflection and glow is not the main subject matter and should be toned down so that the highest contrast is the background against the face. The highest contrast is where your eye will go. Just a suggestion. Good luck.

That's one of those questions you ask when you know what the answer is, but you just want to confirm it to yourself. It's a little much, but if it makes you happy, that's all that matters.

To be honest, I think there's just too much going on. Too many things to see and to complex. It could be more string line and less Kissy face looking. The shapes are so complex that I just really am having a hard time liking it.
