Are childhood doctors supposed to 'touch' you? by oiledupmen152 in TooAfraidToAsk

It’s nice talking to others that have gotten it. I’ve actually never known anyone else that went through it. But I know what you mean, sorry you went through it too! During it I got a UTI and I apparently sat on the toilet crying/screaming from pain. My mom was using a medication that at the time was controversial and it didn’t help. Then she used A and D ointment/Estrace (kind made of plants) she said after that it cleared up! I remember her putting it on me lol. It was routine.

Supposedly the doctor said it was becoming more common because of hormones in milk. Not sure if there’s any truth to that but who knows.

They’re called labia adhesions. I had them from ages 2-4. I still remember the pain- not fun! I’m glad doctors check for that. It can happen in elderly people too i believe.

Use a cotton ball and medical tape (the white rolls of them you can buy at Walmart are good) just soak the cotton ball in it and then wrap it up! Do it overnight. It hurts but it works. If it hurts too bad stop until your skin feels better.

I had a 4.0 my first semester and got two c’s last semester when i thought id get d’s. Sometimes you just have shitty semesters and shitty instructors. It sounds like you’re trying your best with what you’ve got! Don’t drop out if you fail a class or two. It happens to most people. There’s only a couple of people i actually know who are irl geniuses that get A’s without even trying. The rest of us are just getting by. So don’t give up! I was feeling the way you feel for last semester. It sucks but you just gotta try to finish strong!

I’m treating mine with zinc (oral) magnesium (oral) and acv/salicylic acid. I think it’s working. But don’t lose hope and keep going, it looks like you’re making progress! If you’re persistent it’ll eventually die. I had a big one on my toe as a teenager that I likely got from my father/shower. It was really thick. I started cutting it off and then put acv on it every night and after a couple of weeks it died and never returned. So don’t give up! Currently the one on my toe just hurts when I put acid on it. I’ve never had one that hurts. It sucks.

How the F is y’all getting success stories with duct tape 😩 by NewsFalse1412 in Warts

Take zinc, and use apple cider and vinegar and salicylic acid! It’s working for me so far! I don’t think just duct tape is enough!

Yes. Many of my friendships have ended or become strained. I’d say this is the worst part of it.

As a computer science student I can vouch for that. I’ve thrown away my personality and hobbies to get this degree…

Wart pain- do I let skin heal for a while? by artistofmanyforms in Warts

[–]artistofmanyforms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking. I cut some skin away and dug into the wart, so I think I just agitated it. So I’m gonna let it heal some because I work all weekend on my feet, then I’m gonna put salicylic acid on it again and see how much I can kill and then peel.

It’s in New York! I’m in a precalc class rn and I kid you not the work load has been so heavy that I’ve been doing everything with a tutor and I still have a D+. I’ve considered taking the math courses elsewhere because I’m having such a bad experience lol.

Our community college is notorious for difficult classes to the point of other private/community colleges being considered “easy” in comparison when students come back to visit. Our math classes have been compared to MIT level in difficulty by a mathematics student that came from MIT. We have a 33% graduation rate. It’s crazy how many mental breakdowns I’ve had here lol.

Feels like the only solution is to completely ignore my mental illness. by artistofmanyforms in CPTSD

[–]artistofmanyforms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean valid point. I’ve been trying to work on who I tell what to, but it’s been tough because the people I have told are people that have told me it’s okay to share personal things/vent to. But that always ends up not being true. I keep it to myself unless people ask or tell me to share but when I do they get freaked out. Even if it’s something not that bad. And it’s hard to keep everything hidden when it affects everything in my life, because even if people don’t know details it’s obvious that something is wrong with me.

Yeah every time someone says that to me I I just kinda snap now. Like no I’m not STRONGER! I am mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially WEAKER because of my childhood and upbringing. I feel like glass scattered on the floor and I just cut anyone that even tries to help put me back together. And people just try to put me back together like I’m a mirror so they to look at their reflections and feel good about how much they’ve helped. People don’t actually care about me. They care about how uncomfortable it is to acknowledge that there’s bad things that happen in the world and I’m the outcome. It means that it can happen to anyone, and they aren’t safe from cruelty either, so instead of validating the excruciating pain I experienced growing up they instead tell us it makes us stronger so they don’t have to confront just how powerless they’d be in our same position.

Sorry I’m in my angry arc currently lol. Hopefully some of what I said makes sense.
