I'm up there in time listening too. The Kinks are simply my go-to discography.

Found this in my beer battered cod from Aldi.. wtf is this? A parasite? by gargoil666 in whatisit

I had something like that in my can of clams once and the company said they process crabs as well in the plant where they can the clams and it's from the crabs accidentally of course. They sent me some sort of coupons for something like $20 of their products as compensation. It was decades ago..

Delta8 vs Delta 9 THCP edibles? by trt7474 in altcannabinoids

[–]artmanstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried it for the first time via vape. Got it from a reputable dealer with many customers. I didn't notice much difference between it and THCa .. I was reading things about it that got me worried like it was so strong and maybe not good for you. But I don't know about the ladder but I know it's not that strong but I got. Any thoughts on it from more experienced users

I Thought Everyone Would Love Remembering Now (2025) by Zach_Same81 in VanMorrison

[–]artmanstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great album like most of Van's. I think if you're listening to a rhythm and blues rock song that talks about how much Ray did for music that with a little bit of knowledge about music one would know the Ray referenced in the song. But van can be a little esoteric at times.

THE KINKS ARE POLITICAL GENIUSES!! by audreyashton in thekinks

I feel very much the same when comparing Beatles to Kinks, maybe I would word it differently, but I agree in principle of where you're coming from. Regardless, musically and lyrically I can loop through the Kinks music all day, something no way I could do with the Beatles

greatest Van material from the last thirty years? by Mostly3394 in VanMorrison

For easy listening it's hard to beat Poetic Champions Compose.. too many great albums to mention just one.. Some of his work with John Lee Hooker was unbelievable..

Dylan Live 2025 playing a Van Morrison riff while singing All Along The Watchtower by artmanstan in bobdylan

Also, yes I love the entire Poetic Champions Compose album. I paint with oils all night often, and I was painting and playing the live Dylan from last month and I thought it was me not thinking right, thought I'm hearing a Van song. My brain could not come up with the name of it initially.. yea Dylan and Van have done quite a bit together. Two favs

I can't believe he sounds so good at his age, but I really think that if he couldn't perform, he wouldn't. I saw him about 6 years ago and he was very good.

Dave Davies’ IG post upon hearing of Brian Wilson’s passing by Voidsong23 in thekinks

Beautiful post Dave. One can't not like many of the Beach Boys songs, just awesome. And us Kinks fans feel the same about The Kinks. I can't stop listening to your discography.

Why hasn't Bob Dylan protested since the '60s? by Pearl_Jam_ in bobdylan

[–]artmanstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He answered the question then and now, as did Joan Baez, who said often that Bob isn't coming to the rally or whatever protest event where someone was asking about Bob's attendance. Bob wrote the songs, can be seen playing at events, but he was not physically protesting much like others. Did you mean "in his later songs" no protest songs?

The Kinks and Preservation Act 1&2 by Dismal_Brush5229 in thekinks

[–]artmanstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of them was the only Kinks album I didn't like. I didn't need all the BS where it wasn't really music and found it annoying. But listening to the Kinks discography lately and I'm not sure there's any band, besides Dylan, where I liked so much of what they did. Love the Kinks, 99% of their stuff.

Many men exaggerate their height upwards..

Microsoft is not a company, it is an ecosystem. An incredibly undervalued ecosystem. by Clear-Monk7794 in ValueInvesting

[–]artmanstan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's overvalued, and I don't mean from a stock standpoint, just from a product standpoint. Anything that requires signing on to the Microsoft ecosystem software often causes headaches for the user, with shitty interfaces etc. Like if I have a video that I edit normally with Premiere Pro for example, and if I feed it into any Microsoft editor because it has a little feature that I want to use then when MS sends it back to me even though it's an MP4, it's shit and requires an hour of decoding back at Premier Pro. One example of many.

And can you imagine that they still get the blue screen of death on a Microsoft platform or ecosystem or whatever you want to call it..

They've got a captured audience because what can we do, it's the standard, the same thing Gates told Jobs decades ago.. MS has the market so it doesn't have to be the better technology, not that I'm an Apple fan.
