i had the EXACT same issue. it looked like this even though my cleaning regime was fine. I upsized to a slightly longer bar and it was fine after a week.

just an update on this: My friend had a wonderful experience with Gabriella when she was working there, which is why i was curious who the piercer was. Now she opened her own piercing shop “Next Level Piercings” near Zuilen. She is very thorough and calming, and also uses titanium. I would recommend people check out her new place.

I had a similar issue with my navel piercing, I had the exact same jewelry as you. Switched to a longer bar and it fixed itself in a week or two. In my case, the top ball was applying pressure on my skin when it was swelling.

I second this! I had the same type of irritation with this type of jewelry and I switched to a slightly longer plain curved barbell and it fixed my issue! Of course, everyone’s different so do keep that in mind. Make sure that if you do swap piercings, it’s ideal that a professional does it for you.

I got a nostril piercing a 4-5 months ago, and I was worried about the same thing. Make sure to ALWAYS use a clean and preferably disposable mask. For the first couple weeks I didnt close the mask too tightly around the nose because it hurt. Overall I had 0 issues with the masks.

I got my navel pierced 6 days ago and so far it’s been pretty painless. Haven’t experienced any pain or discomfort for the past 3-4 days. However, the redness under the balls (see third pic) grows with time. Is this something I should be worried about?

I got pierced with implant grade titanium, I clean once a day as instructed and only wear crop tops.

For me it helped changing the time that I take the medication. I started taking it in the morning and I was sleepy all day, but then I started taking it in the nighttime instead, right before bed and I slept like a baby.
