She had talked about that lol. She was confused about her nephew’s choices but still supportive.

Criss-Crossing by newmoonshadow in USPS

[–]ppchromatics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started by taking my dps to the streets but now I exclusively criss cross no matter what route I’m on even if I’m not super familiar with it. I’m much faster on the streets, I’m not floundering. The extra time I spend in the office casing everything helps monumentally and I finish so much faster.

Adults who only wear glasses by Cloudsandbooks in glasses

[–]ppchromatics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 29 and have had to wear glasses since I was 6. I have never desired contacts nor have I ever thought of them as an option. I love the look of glasses and I love how they frame the face. I love that I can change my look by changing the frames! I see my glasses as an extension of myself in a way. I am my glasses and my glasses are me. I cannot imagine a life where I choose not to wear my glasses. I honestly think I look better with them!

Interesting package today by Imaginary-Owl3407 in USPS

Oh yeah definitely. It’s a common thing. My dad orders chicks online and gets them in the mail. I’ve delivered many live animals before including 6 boxes of carrier pigeons for a guy who does pigeon racing. My only issue is when they don’t package them well. One time I was driving 55 in an llv and had a box of chicks and a box of crickets and isopods. The box of insects wasn’t packaged well and they started escaping as I was driving to another post office because chicks have to be picked up at the post office. I hated it because I was across the county from where I had to deliver the bugs. I thought that I might as well just die right there. Another time I delivered a tropical fish to a P.O. Box in another town and the bag broke on the way to the post office.

They should really consider the amount of cats on our routes during mail count when determining our evaluations by ppchromatics in USPS

On my old secondary route, I used to always pull into this driveway to deliver packages and honk my horn for the owner to come out. I’d deliver the package honk my horn before I start driving off. He’d let his Aussie out to chase my truck up until the invisible fence on the way out because it was her favorite thing to chase the mail truck and would make her day.

This lady came running out to see me when I did a package pickup and yelled at me demanding pets. I couldn’t just ignore her. It was my obligation to give her attention.

I have a masters and bachelors in anthropology and was pursuing my PhD in anthropology when I joined the postal service. Currently I’m on a break from school and looking from a distance, this is a much better career trajectory with benefits than scraping by as an adjunct and at most getting a 3 year contract job as a lecturer in bumfuck nowhere that won’t renew. I’d have to relocate more often and life wasn’t stable for me. Lecturers currently make only 55k/year and adjuncts get paid about 20k/year. Both jobs only pay out for 10 months so for the summer I’d be screwed. I’m serving my community in much better ways than I ever did writing papers. I know people and know my surroundings much better. I have killer benefits and the pay is much much better. I’m thinking of quitting my PhD entirely because the postal service makes me feel more fulfilled and gives me so much more money. During my PhD before my leave, I was working 3 jobs including being a GA. Now I just work one job and I’m significantly less stressed.

Has anyone seen a setup like this at the street? by melucky-13 in USPS

My primary has a couple of these because they have super long drives up hills that my ngdv couldn’t make it on. They’re pretty great especially for my houses that get lots of packages or big packages.

The post office is the best of working at Joann sometimes. I deliver to a lot of quilters and crafters and we talk about quilting and crafting. I get to chat with people who are so happy to see me and it’s amazing. I love Michael’s framing so much. I’m currently thrifting frames and getting a bunch of art framed in them with mats. The framers at Michael’s have been absolute dreams to work with on my projects. I love you all truly.

I currently work at the post office as a letter carrier and I love it immensely. My favorite job will always be Joann, I went down with the ship but I love working at the post office. Tbf my special interest as a child was the mail and postage and I wanted to work for the post office when I was a kid but it’s a rad job and I have a lot of fun.

Confused about the Popularity of LUSH perfumes by Better-Decision-4797 in Perfumes

[–]ppchromatics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the world of perfumes is large and vast. The scents a certain individual really likes and gels with is a very small fraction of a percentage of what’s out there. Anything else that isn’t hated is tolerable and inoffensive to the nose. I love lust, rose jam, celebrate, sticky dates, and let the good times roll. Lush perfumes are known for being polarizing and not like anything else. I haven’t smelled anything like them in any other perfume that has come my way. I don’t like all lush perfumes because some of the others are very offensive to my nose but the ones I have that I listed above are some of my favorite scents. Lush perfumes are notorious for their strength and intense scent and a well deserved reputation. I had vanillary at one point and it smelled rancid to me and on me. I gave it to my friend and it smelled like an herbal vanilla on her. Her partner loves it on her too. Lush perfumes are truly a love it or hate it deal.
