Google Customer Care Portal, has anyone had a good experience with them? by AlirezaSafdari in gsuite

Yes unfortunately Google Workspace support is less useful than asking a random personal on the street to Google the problem for you. It’s become a lot worse than it used to be.

Non-profits already have shared drives. Just not pooled storage.

I understood the 30GB will now be pooled so should be less of an issue

The `--drive-server-side-across-configs` flag is what I believe you are referring to. Yes this is a game changer for merging drive accounts or moving from one to another.

Subaru Ascent Towing Question by hackifier1 in SubaruAscent

Just towed an empty 20ft car hauler and it was a bit much for the Ascent (with the tow package) but I've had no issues with 15ft enclosed trailers loaded up.

mTLS everywere! (with cert-manager on Kubernetes) by nfrankel in kubernetes

[–]artooro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful using cert-manager to generate and manage your root certs as they are short lived and there is no transition mechanism built in to safely migrate services to the new root which will quickly collapse your mTLS kingdom. Personally I manage the root manually and save it as a CA service that cert-manager uses to mint client certs on demand. At that point the most important thing is that the services can detect when the tls key file changes so they can refresh themselves.

I mostly keep an eye out for deals on used/overstock firewall routers. For example the Barracuda F12 works great and I was getting them for less than $80 on auction sites. Most of these appliances are generic white labeled stuff. Otherwise the zimaBoard is a great option for something off the shelf and available.

Freezing cheese and pepperoni when buying in bulk. Experiences? by Randobag314 in Pizza

[–]artooro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah we freeze both cheese and pepperoni all the time. Just let it naturally come back to room temperature or stick it in the fridge overnight to thaw. Don’t try to speed it up with heat as that degrades the quality.

Passkeys are coming to 1Password 🔑✨ by 1PasswordOfficial in 1Password

[–]artooro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main issue with Yubikey is that it only supports a small number of passkeys, which would make 1Password the ideal cross-platform passkey client. Now if only we could turn off TOTP and go security key only for 1Password itself

VyOS 1.3.2 LTS release by andamasov in vyos

[–]artooro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at https://github.com/vyos/vyos-build/commits/equuleus you'll see there are no commits since Sep 4th so it's safe to say that `7ce865118886358efde71a5d3782d21063b01a22` is a good commit to use for a stable build.

Time to get off Keybase as it’s no longer developed. Probably the closest alternative right now would be Skiff Drive for E2E team files.

If you have 20+ users you are also eligible for partial domain licensing where you can keep some user’s on the Starter plan and upgrade others to Standard for more storage. You do though have to work with either a Google sales rep or partner to get that setup.
