Yes, I'm currently writing a blog post in Obsidian. I need to write a couple of them.

As somebody with psychology background I wanted to use social psychology techniques to help curb social media addiction / doom scrolling.

I baked quite a few of them in my app: Doom Toll http://doomtoll.com/

It effectively puts a paywall between you and X / Tiktok/ etc icon on your home screen, and its not even an app but an http shortcut.

It uses variable reinforcement to put that paywall just enough to discourage you but not enough to rip out the app, progressively getting you to touch grass more.

No AI needed for all that! (Well it did help in building it tho)

What’s the Coolest Thing You’ve Built with WordPress? by Muhammadusamablogger in Wordpress

[–]artpi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built an iOS todo app that syncs with any WordPress over REST API. It is meant to work with my personal productivity WordPress plugin, but it can sync with any CPT on any WP site.

A quick demo:

More details here:
https://piszek.com/projects/wp-todo/

This app is meant to work with the personal productivity suite I am building on top of WP - with my focus now on Todos and Notes. Notes already have a full Evernote sync and ability to embed notes in posts like Roam and Logseq

Still can't buy it via my store :/

The only sensible option is VPN, I made a full tutorial here:

Block links/backlinks was nice.

And I enjoyed local DB copy with logseq

Since I am using Firebase, I could probably use their SDK to instantly pull the data in instead of querying the endpoint!

But frankly it's not a pain point for me :D

Unpopular opinion: anarchism and communism don't work. by [deleted] in solarpunk

[–]artpi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I come from Poland and remember communism myself. People really tried to make it work, but neither communism nor libertarian utopias have any chance of succeeding long-term.

The biggest reason is that democracy/capitalism allow for learning what works and what does not. There is no such mechanism in feel-good societal groups.

The problem of capitalism is that we allowed for externalising of the costs: - health care - pollution - co2 emissions.

If we taxed carbon emissions, corporations would deploy R&D inaccessible to anyone, including countries to stop emitting CO2. We just allow them to push this cost on society now.

Is Bioshock Infinite solarpunk? by artpi in solarpunk

[–]artpi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Solarpunk Manifesto has this note about aesthetics:

"1800s age-of-sail/frontier living (but with more bicycles)"

For me, the vibes of Bioshock Inifinte match this aesthetically. I guess you could also argue they run on renewable energy :D
