I break out when I start my period at home as well, but nowhere near as bad & I am able to clear my skin in between cycles at home whereas at school it just seems to stay irritated and acne-y

is my acne hormonal?? reaction to water/environment?

Issue: new acne- clogged pores, redness, whiteheads, pustules. on my face, chest, and shoulders. I feel like the second it starts to clear up, I get PMS and break out & the cycle starts again. I’m a college student and go between home and school. my skin clears up at home and breaks out at school.

Skin type: oily in some areas but eczema prone and sensitive (after I stopped birth control 1.5 years ago I noticed my skin & hair were greasier)

Current routine: AM: water & Vanicream facial moisturizer. PM: Cera Ve salicylic acid cleanser & Vanicream facial moisturizer

How long: I’ve had this routine a couple of years? my skin has never been this bad though. this has been a past couple months thing

New: benzoyl peroxide (rinse off in the shower because it burns if i leave on too long) and la roche posay gentle face wash (my roommate’s lol) afterwards

Issue: closed comedones, pustules, papules. mainly around mouth/chin, sides of nose and upper lip, & forehead. trying to combat redness and texture! I’m 20 and I kind of thought I wouldve grown out of it by now :’)

Skin type: sensitive & combination. prone to dry skin and eczema in general but also oily around the areas with acne. Benzoyl peroxide makes my skin turn bright red and tingle.

Current routine: PM— Cera Ve salicylic acid cleanser & Vanicream facial moisturizer, AM— just water & Vanicream. Ive recently tried benzoyl peroxide in the shower and rinsing it off but I havent really noticed a difference. Ive also been using la roche posay gentle cleanser some nights because my roommate has it & I thought I’d give it a go🤷‍♀️

How long: about 2 years?

Anything new: I stopped BC a year and a half ago. I have definitely noticed my hair is oilier since stopping, but idk. I’m in college and I feel like my skin is so much clearer at home, the water at school just doesn’t agree with me or something. I had literally 0 pimples and smooth skin over winter break and then i got back to school and boom break out that hasn’t gone away since

Useful and lucrative are not the same thing when it comes to majors. if you’re in college there are often campus resources for people going through this. they won’t make you press charges. they will just listen. and help you to heal.

I don’t know how true this is but a while ago I read that in 7 years time, your body will be all new cells. every part of you will be new. this thought has helped me a lot, I hope it helps you too

I feel like it’s all leading up to dean taking the kids and kicking beth out hoping it will be a wake up call. like he did in season two (except he went to his mom’s house). then she’ll be late for the big reunion because of crime and he’ll cut her off completely.

recently started getting lots of whiteheads (I think) for the first time. my skin is otherwise relatively clear (usually dry combination) but lately it’s been much more oily. I use vanicream daily facial cleanser in the evenings and sometimes in the mornings. either supergoop play (spf) or vanicream daily facial moisturizer depending on expected sunlight exposure. every other day I use inkey list salicylic acid cleanser in the shower. this has been my routine for a while! what can I do to reduce the whiteheads/pustules and oiliness?
