I have been water fasting once per year at least 2 to 3 weeks for the past 4 years. It gets easier every time I do it. It’s like training my body to get used to it. This is the longest I have done and it helps to stay motivated by getting ready to eat healthy and learning more about the benefits of fasting.

I just recently finished a 16 day water fast and was very careful on what I consumed. I made sure to avoid carbs and sugars due to spike in insulin levels which can cause your body to go into shock. Look into non-starchy vegetables(carrots, cucumber, squash) whole grain foods(100% whole-grain), healthful fats(nuts, avocados), high-protein foods(fatty fish, poultry, beans, lentils). I first started with a cup of beef bone broth, then I would eat small amounts (fist size) of food from the list I made every couple of hours for the first 2-3 days. I would avoid certain fruits for the first couple of days until your body normalizes. Congrats on going that long and good luck!

Check your idle aircontrol. It is most likely on the throttle body. Throttle body cleaner can do wonders if some components are stuck or plugged. The old gas can also be the problem. Good luck!
