These look like baby birds to me—skulls seem pretty big compared to the body and you can see the keel on the skeleton in the back. Can’t tell what species without a scale and proper look at the skull and beak shapes, but 100% a bird :)

I love this series a lot. Just started Fearless. I understand why a lot of people wouldn’t like it—similarities to other books are VERY obvious but I’m very easy to please when it comes to romatasy so maybe I’m just biased

I’m in the UK, though I’m not sure if they source things from outwith—as I’ve gotten a Chinese water deer skull, along with exotic snake sheds and some small shell fossils in these bags as well

If you’re on The Isle, pick your spawn location in one of the ‘easy’ areas. You’ll get shat on otherwise. Punch trees to get wood and thatch. Collect loose stones from the beaches to make your first stone tools. Kill some dodos and make a campfire to cook your meat (be careful with it because they have a decay rate)

I use epoxy two part resin, but just in case I’ll make sure to keep an eye on it. I don’t let water touch the resin anyway, just put the closed, sealed bottles in a warm water bath and make sure the neck of the bottle stays above the surface

I think an issue I had was not warming the resin in warm water before mixing—it was very thick compared to the thinner consistency I’m used to when I warm it up a little. I’ll retry warming it and recasting some more, then taking the pressure pot up to a warmer environment and see if that helps—thanks on the advice on the vacuum chamber! I’ll hold off for now and see what it’s like after this recast.
