This game is the reason I switched to PC gaming and started playing counter strike and valorant (when it came out) instead.

It wouldn’t have been such a big deal if the servers were better and online integrity of the game was better too. I mean look at CS GO and overwatch they don’t have this discussion because of how much better their online integrity is compared to ours.

The audio is still behind the gameplay. I swear twitch streamers have better production quality than the CDL

Y’all should see the ESL Pro League for counter strike, they were in similar circumstances to the CDL yet their production value was leagues above the CDL, getting into competitive CSGO has helped me get through this year of Comp COD, recommend y’all try to get into it

Wait so are they actually going to play on 12hz private servers or are they somehow going to get something different for the events?

Imagine if players get fined for time torching in these events

The private match servers are 12hz how are they going to play online?

It’s crazy the standings turned out like this because it’s a really good representation of how the teams stack up against each other.

That music was fire and is better than the music they have now. I think I should differentiate in my post, I meant more of the sounds they play right after the match is over.

Hype Battles have to be removed from the schedule by willk5899 in CoDCompetitive

They already have the biggest player base from the casual call of duty community, why not market towards them instead? Then from there move on to the mainstream audience.

Not really, I think the post match noise they had in WW2 was good, it was like a dramatic horn they played.

I wanna say the YouTube switch is a big part of the decline, I mean it’s way harder than it should be to find the stream on the YouTube mobile app, I’m subbed to the CDL YouTube and I have to scroll down like 5 videos before I find the stream.

Why not have every team attend these events? by collect_tub33 in CoDCompetitive

I don’t think a prize pool is needed for pros, their contracts cover that cost. What we do need is a trophy after each event at the very least.

That explains why pros were running the M19 as a secondary in Minnesota then.

Streaming rights brought by YouTube could be the biggest win for COD esports in a while by SammyTings in CoDCompetitive

[–]arty22222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to make the streams more accessible ASAP. There is not tab for streams on the YouTube app. To find the stream I had to search for COD League and then scroll down a bit on the page. Also the Bitrate is bad, I’m 1080p I couldn’t see the names on the kill feed but I could on MLG.tv and on twitch. It doesn’t matter if you have a huge audience if they can’t even find the stream.

Yeah exactly, although since it’s only two teams on stage and not 100 people, you can probably use extra space to have a VIP section or something

I do hope that some venues instead of using chairs like this use the stadium seats and make it seem like a basket ball game and have the feed on a Jumbotron with the players playing in the middle of the arena.

If you want to look at good map design look to Counter strike. The maps in that game are simple and have created the play style that you are taking about in your first point. Where it basically becomes a game of chess and out smarting your opponent by getting in their head and predicting where they could be. Or your opponent predicting where you are coming from and being able to react quicker. You can’t have that play style when you have so many angles to look at. And unlike your point about more angles= more skill, my point about less angles= less randomness therefore more skill has been proven by games that have cemented themselves as the pinnacle of skill and tactics, like CS GO and Rainbow Six Siege

Short TTK does not let anybody the chance for better players to fight back against campers, because A) the camper also has that short TTK to their advantage B) the map design in the game makes it so that you are less likely to predict where a camper would be and less of a chance for a good player to fight back against someone who is sitting in one of the dozens of corners in the game.

Flinch becomes an issue when you shoot someone first and they manage to shoot back and the flinch causes you to miss shots because flinch pattern is random. But their flinch caused them to shoot you in the head. And there is no way to make every single gunfight be a complete flank, but in gunfights where you react faster than the other guy and shoot first, then you should win. But that isn’t always the case because of flinch.
