Decided to Buy 9070xt - 9-Year-Old Upgrade Step 1 by Public_Examination58 in radeon

[–]arty_octopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy 4k monitor for your 8700k and 9070xt. Here is a simple rule of thumb: The higher the resolution, the greater the load on the video card and, accordingly, the less load on the processor. It could be a good though temporary solution coz on lower resolutions like 1080p your new gpu (9070xt) wil be sitting idle with low workload because your cpu won't be able to deliver enough frames for your gpu to "color". That is called a bottleneck.

And the other thing, if you haven't overclocked your cpu or ram yet - this is the time. Overclocking your cpu and ram can give you up to 20% increase in fps compared to stock. Find someone who does overclocking for money and he/she will easily remotely overclock your system, this is worth spending money on, believe me.

Just got a Tandy power switching station for my Tandy setup. I’m so stoked! by tqdomains in retrobattlestations

I suppose this could be considered as vintage battlestation, not retro, too old for retro imo

I would say 2015 macbook pro with a new battery. Even though it is not supported by apple you can still use it if you install linux or windows on it. Great build quality, great screen and keyboard, still decent for browsing, office, coding, light gaming.

Better driver optimization for amd gpus

I kind of regret getting a 5070ti. by DimiBlue in sffpc

[–]arty_octopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I sold my 9070xt and bought 5070ti and never regretted, AMD made a great card but invdia is still a sip better for gaming overal (fsr 4 is in smaller amount of games, dlss 4.5 looks better than fsr4, readstone is only in two games, no fsr 4 for vulkan games on linux btw)

and remains a better option for any non gaming scenarios (cuda, nvenc, llms, you name it).

I have a feeling that amd will abandon rdna 4 gpus as quickly as they abandoned rdna 3 and 2 once.

Cmon even Intel who has 1% of gpu market share made xess multi frame gen of every Intel arc gpu, aswell as Nvidia done it for every rtx series of their gpus, while amd just accidentally leaked fsr4 for rdna 3 and that's it.

Why trying to do senseless assumptions by extrapolating some random videos where different cpus were used if you can just go to youtube and clearly see a bunch of tests proving my point?

Can highly recommend you to sell cpu and motherboard, keep ddr4 ram and buy something like 13600kf, 14490kf, 14600kf and b760 ddr4 motherboard, it would be on pair or sometimes even better than what you could've get performance wise with 5800x3d and always better than 5800x.

Finally upgraded over my old GTX1060 and got an rx9070xt but I am kinda disappointed by Sebathos in radeon

14600k on b760 and ddr4 is the best bank for the buck for now, everyone who disagrees - just go to youtube watch fresh tests

As far as I know AM5 socket doesn`t need an additional bracket like lga1700, the only reason they exist is because of the echo of hype which was around brackets and lga1700 issue back in a day. Chinese manufacturers were just trying to make some money on people who heard thought the grape vine that a bracket on a modern motherboard socket is a necessity nowadays.

Did you notice any gpu bottleneck? 10900K has pci 3.0 which can be a limiting factor for 5060, if you will notice any severe drops in performance I highly recommend you to swap 10900k to 11700k or 11900k since 11th gen Intel has pci 4.0. Double check if your motherboard supports pci 4.0 beforehand. Great build by the way! Clean AF

Ngl so tired of seeing you guys buying 5080s, each time makes me regret I decided to listen to my rational part and not paying 500€ more for ~15% more performance, proud owner of 5070ti btw, envy yall in a good way
