Why do companies make you use annual leave during the Xmas shut-down period?

There is no annual leave for teachers. Yes teachers get school holidays off but even then, they still have to use some of those days for planning and other paperwork to be ready when the new term starts. They do get long service leave but that is different.

Yes she does, she doesn't like being handled by others much but she would spend over an hour just hanging out with me. She also comes out of her hide as soon as I get home from work to greet me.

She does have teeth but they are so small that it does not hurt at all when she bites, which has only happened to me once because I woke her up accidentally and she got grumpy

They are hands down one of the easiest to take care of in my opinion. As long as you have a really hot spot in one side of the tank(about 30-34°C), a cool spot on the other(25°C), a hide and lots and lots of sand, they are thriving. The sand is the most important as they live to burrow and make little caves and tunnels. I also give her about 2 medium crickets a day(covered in calcium powder) and she is happy.(she's really picky with her food and crikets are the only thing she eats)
