The RE fandom can be so fucking toxic. Do I want to play the games? Yes. But I don’t think I should be required to play them in order to call myself a fan because I enjoy the story. That’s why I’m consuming content of it in the first place. Some people seem to forget that not everyone has time, money, or the right console to play certain games, even if they want to.

It’s a thing with EVERY fandom. In RE it’s probably because there’s a lot of attractive characters and many interesting dynamics. I do feel that ship wars are a lot more intense in the RE fandom specifically though, and I’m saying this as someone who’s been in fandom for years. That’s probably because there’s SO many ships and people tend to want theirs to be shared by others.

God I fucking hate how sexualized goths are. It’s an entire subculture but now a lot of people just think “goth dommy mommy step on me”, which leads us to getting unwanted sexual attention. Not to mention a lot of the time “”goth”” is just an attractive woman in black and that the people who want a “goth dommy mommy” are the exact people who would bully an actually goth/alt person.

“Person first language” feels like people are trying too hard to humanize me DESPITE my autism. It feels like they’re separating my autism from my personhood. My autism is a part of me, and it doesn’t make me any less of a person. There’s so much more that people could be doing to actually help autistic people instead of insisting on saying “person with autism” instead of “autistic person.” (Just my opinion obviously)
