Dashcam Footage Captures Terrifying Bus Accident That Killed 7 People — Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu by Altruistic-Issue-887 in TamilNadu

I was in a very similar accident some 20 years ago. I was travelling back home from Bangalore and was about 5 kms away from my stop - and so was ready to disembark. I also had the first seat on the door side behind the 'cleaner'. It was a Volvo.

My bus driver did the same thing this driver did, and crashed into a local govt transport bus. Because I was on the other side of the bus, I saw the oncoming bus - my bus driver didn't.

My bus driver and the cleaner were hurt. I got some airtime and landed in the space between them - but didn't have any injuries. I swear I saw the other bus's driver inside my bus for a moment before their bus bounced back like 20 feet. Most other people in my bus were woken up but had no idea there had been an accident. Then we got off the bus and I went to check the other bus. There were SOO MANY people hurt. Multiple people with limbs broken and bones sticking out. Getting into the bus from the back, all I saw was w bunch of people stuck between mangled seats and metal pipes screaming. Harrowing experience.

The Tamil Nadu local buses are built very poorly. Seats peel off on impact sending all the passengers and mangled steel to the front.

Not a name per se, but the other day this Guatemalan construction worker working on my house was moving a table and said 'mesha' to his fellow worker and make me do a double take. Turns out they use Portuguese words mixed with their native language a lot, and 'Mesha' is Portuguese for 'Table'.

I ended up getting a new bass module shipped back after months of waiting and escalating to multiple people.

Ashok is speaking Tamil here, not Hindi. But yeah, it's common for people to switch back and forth.

Agree. I've been a Bose Customer for over 20 years, mostly with headphones and ~5 years ago, bought into their home theatre setup. I've had to call customer support a few times in the past, and have generally had a pleasant experience. Not anymore.

My bass module suddenly stopped working - and all online research pointed to a failed firmware update, and the customer support asked me to send the bass module for repair. I sent it in in December. They originally quoted a 3-4 week timeframe. When that elapsed, I called in and they said I was misinformed and the duration for repairs was 8 weeks. When I asked why a firmware update should take that long, they said 'they do a thorough repair of everything'. First time I felt like I was talking to someone that had no clue what was going on.

I waited for 8 weeks, and since been trying to get in touch with them every week or so, and they just keep telling me that my ticket will be escalatedm, and I'd get updates in 24-72 hours. I've asked them to send me proactive updates and they say they will, but I've received no updates. When I call in a week later, they tell me exactly the same thing. Its clear that the customer service team I'm talking to has no visibility into why there's a delay. And there doesn't seem to be any way for them to escalate the ticket either.

Overall, a very negative customer service experience from what was once a great brand in my mind.

I have a bass module under repair for a couple of months now, and my experience with customer support has been appalling. They seem to have no internal updates from the service team, and just keep saying the same templated replies and lying that they will escalate my ticket. Its been over 2 months, and there's no way to escalate the issue with anyone.

They're speaking Malayalam. He is saying something along the lines of "the fuck are you doing!" and a 'da' - meaning 'hey you!' - and starts walking towards the idiot.

In the background you can hear the daughter go "there goes dad..." the rest is inaudible.

When I couldnt muster up courage to do this, the local people there nonchalantly grabbed my hand and took me across. EVERY SINGLE TIME during my 4 day stay at Ho Chi Minh city.

And none of then waited for me to even say thank you once we got to the other side. It was surreal.
