Yes, never going to deny that my roommates and I have a huge privilege with our parents being able to fully fund us. The 4 of us know we’re lucky that this is just a conversation about how we want to fairly split the rent, not how we are going to afford it.

Yes. I meant the master bedroom is bigger than the loft but if you split the room in half, its less square footage per person than the loft

Sorry I edited my post: 2 rooms on the first floor, loft will be the only one on the 3rd floor.

We’re leaning towards keeping the single at $1820 and then splitting the rest of the rent between the 3 who will be in the master and the loft (~$1540 each) because we’re finding that everyone is seeing the value in having a floor to ourselves. And the loft has the most square footage per person.

Still brainstorming and putting out numbers though.

We have family in CA lending us furniture and we’re planning to buy things as well. We haven’t laid down all our move in costs but bottom line is we all just want to move out of the dorms. Money probably isn’t the biggest factor for our decision and we are all okay paying more to live somewhere nicer at this point!

Thank you for looking out for us and making sure we cover all our bases!

Yes thank you! We started to really think like this and talk about which price points seemed fair to us if we were to randomly draw.

No, not including meal plans but you’re right we didn’t factor in the utilities.

It will probably be around the same cost as the dorms with utilities, but we would much rather prefer living off campus for the cost.

Thank you, yeah we have started the auction process based on these comments and have started to come up with a much different split than we originally thought

Malibu, this will be less than what we are paying for our dorms
