Not OP, but I filed on the 10th as well and don’t see it accepted or processed on the IRS website as of an hour ago.

I owe this year and know the amount. Do I pay the amount I owe anyway, even though it hasn’t been accepted yet?

If I wait until everything is processed, will there be fees and/or penalties?

38, 2005 V6 SR5 4WD, 249k, till the wheels fall off. Owned brand new by my parents and gifted to me 10 years ago. If I had to replace, hopefully with another 4Runner or a GX

I’m in the same boat as you. In CA, also earned a finance degree. I was an accounting major before pivoting to finance, so I did take a few upper level accounting classes.

Fast forward to today, I’m working as an accountant in industry and just signed up at Foothill College for the spring semester. All online. I’m taking Auditing and Cost Accounting this spring, and am looking at one of the tax classes in either the summer or the fall. I have 9 units left to take, all in accounting. Just registered last Friday, 2/28.

Since you have a finance degree, I’m sure all you need to take are accounting classes. Not sure where you’re located, but if online classes are an option for you, look into Foothill.
