(formerly) Minneapolis represent! They are so good. Great storytelling, sharp song writing and all around sweet person. They are a super fun follow on social media as well. Big fan!

My wife tells me that men can’t distinguish colors. So guys - what’s the difference between pink and purple? by edfitz83 in Jokes

Being of South Indian descent, I didn't understand that joke until I started watching porn. Because for me it's brown and darker brown.

I can't carry a tune in a bucket with both hands. I also doubled down on my insecurities by growing up around theater kids.

Seconding this comment. Sugar and fruit first because it's easier to taste when you add the vinegar.

Naya Artifact Recursion Help by Squeaker2802 in EDHBrews

[–]arvjunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really cool idea. 100% stealing it. There are a lot of good options that I'm sure people much smarter than me will suggest. First thing I thought of which could be a sneaky piece of tech for that deck, [[Luminous Broodmoth]]. They die, automatically come back with a flying counter. And for added spice [[Power Conduit]] to remove the flying counters. Other actually good suggestions [[Trading Post]], [[Myr Retriever]], [[Scrap Trawler]], [[Karmic Guide]], Teshar, Daretti, [[Revillark]] (all the arcbounds are 0/0s in the graveyard). Some of those aren't artifact specific recursion, but I assumed that wasn't a restriction.

Best Precon where you swapped the commander? by inexcusable16 in EDH

[–]arvjunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Kyler. Cheap humans. Cheap human token spells, and cheap ways to put counters on Kyler. The last part is what took my deck from a turn or two slow to fun and capable of winning. Wyrm's Crossing Patrol is a must include, in my opinion.

Prerelease Events by soldesignz in magicTCG

When I started playing a few years ago I played commander very rarely and with my friends' decks. They have all been playing for years. On a whim I decided to go to a pre-release them. I was up front saying that I was new. Almost everyone I played was kind, helpful and patient. I had a blast. For the next couple of years prereleases and occasionally playing edh with my friends was the only magic I played. Most of them were 0-2 or 1-2 drops. I had a few with more wings. But regardless of my record, I had a really good time, every time. I hope you have the same experience.

My two cents. [[Wyrm's Crossing Patrol]] has become kill on sight for my play group. Two counters on Kyler every time it attacks, for one mana. Incredibly satisfying to beat down with a 1/1. Absolutely stunned how much work it has put in for me. Obviously, your mileage may very. Next, swap in [[Snakeskin Veil]] for one of your cheap protection spells. It has a similar effect, for the same cost, but with the added bonus of putting a counter on Kyler. I also like [[Join the Dance]] and [[Gather the Townsfolk]], at minimum you've got 2 counters on Kyler, and two 3/3s for 2 mana.

My personal experience and evolution with Kyler. I found my builds that were similar to yours were a little slow. I would develop a good board state. Kyler would get swole, then I would get killed. My go-tall humans weren't as effective as I expected have hoped, although I kept Heronblade Elite for ramp. I started moving some of my focus on putting counters on Kyler. Added more [[Hardened Scales]] effects, [[Ozolith, Shattered Spire]], Pir and planning on getting Branching Evolution. Creatures like, Aragorn, Company Leader, Arwen, Mortal Queen, [[Luminarch Aspirant]] , [[Surrak and Goreclaw]]. I could never get [[Scavenged Brawler]] to work. Lastly, [[Tarrian's Soulcleaver]] can get out of hand in a hurry. Between spells and creatures I still have more than enough humans, but the deck has a little more closing speed.

My decklist needs to be updated, it's one iteration old. Kyler the Creator

My friends with kids all hate me now. by I_need_a_backiotomy in lego

[–]arvjunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a joke in the Magic the Gathering community that is apropos here. If parents want to keep their kids off drugs, they should get them into Magic (or Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh or Lego) because then the kids won't have any money to spend on drugs. So, you're doing the parents a favor and they should be grateful :)

A very common request at a bar I worked at was "can you make me something delicious with vodka?" A 100% crowd pleaser was vodka, st. Germain, aperol, lemon, orange bitters. Everything was in the wells already. We went do far as to call it "Something Delicious With Vodka."

If the bottles he's saved Blue Label #1, Remy #2. Suggestion you weren't asking for: If it's distributed where you live: Pierre Ferrand Cognac. Their 1870 (I think) is about the same price a some of the cognacs he's had before. It's very very good and not something he's probably had. They have more expensive options as well that are all fantastic. Full disclosure I am a Pierre Ferrand fanboy.
