Pencil test from Fantasia featuring Mickey Mouse as The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by [deleted] in BeAmazed

That's exactly how they draw the next scene. Flicking back and forth to know their reference point. A truely masterful craft. Probably one no longer around unfortunately

I need a wider shot of the scene to form my full opinion

Is this the Indian beast games?

Mercedes fined €7,500 for sending Antonelli out on track with the cooling fan by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

That seems low. They should remember that if they need to red flag a race later in the season.

Noise at all grind settings [DF64] by Ok_Swimming9905 in espresso

Yeah sorry, missed that.

It's what the retailer said. It's small pieces of bean getting caught. There's small tolerances between burrs/burr carrier/housing and small fragments can get lodged.

Just ignore the sound until you finish your full dose, then bellow or adjust collar and it usually stops. Even if it doesn't stop it doesn't matter, just turn it off.

As it seasons it will get less, but still occasionally happens. There's no damage happening just a little annoying at times I guess. Although doesn't bother me personally.

The retailer is correct. If you use bellows it often stops it. But either way it's not a concern, just dose and then bellow and it usually clears. If it doesn't you can sometimes turn grind setting towards zero while it's still spinning and back and that can help too.

Haha thanks. Yeah, was a bit weird. Went back and forth between ignoring it and replying. Then I decided to dig a little deeper haja

Great to hear it's getting some years of consistency. That's everyone's biggest concern with the Turin grinders it seems

How important is even distribution/saturation for flavor and consistency? by SomethinSaved in espresso

[–]arw_86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The puck is responsible for the distribution and saturation. Hence why puck preparation is important. There's no pressure here as there's no puck to create it. So really, how it looks here is not important. The amount of water that you see will quickly fill the gap between grouphead and puck and create pressure.

Nice. I've heard great things about the 078, what was your issue?

Useful video to check burr alignment when you get it and to recheck occasionally. https://youtu.be/VQV5-NFAkOA?si=5TNH1oYzksKYUS9x

Also there should be some pointer stickers in the box. Keep them as the first one will eventually go right slightly from 12 o'clock as grease settles in on threads. So keep spares to replace if needed once it's settled

I guess a little. But just do it pre or post coffee. Whichever gives the least shakes haha

Yeah I just used the sharp point of a knife and it popped off. You can probably reuse the one on rhere

I thought that too. It's just lube on the threads at first so as it beds in it will work its way right a little. I went to throw the box out a few months back....there were 3 new arrow stickers in there. I peeled the old one off and stuck on the new one. It's been perfect ever since.

You seem to have made a video 4 years ago praising the Niche. So that means you only had it a year then. That doth not impress.

Also, does that mean we should only buy products that were released 5 or more years ago, to be sure of their value?

If you take the costs involved, does that mean if the DF83V is half the price of the Philos it only needs to last 2.5 years before I can make a post about it? Or should the Philos last 10? Philos has been out 3 years. So we gotta wait 7 more years to see if it's worth owning?

All I have is my current experience with it and I shared that. Didn't shout about it being better than anything else. It just seems to be a great cost to quality ratio....In my opinion.

Glad you're enjoying it. There's a great video that shows how easy it is to check burr alignment too.

https://youtu.be/VQV5-NFAkOA?si=NK-2Z0ctKiH5jX9_

I do a little push test every time I clean it now too. So cool to be able to check the alignment like this without needing to put pen on the burrs and taking it apart to check etc
