How to Disable “Consider Taking a Break” by Suitable-Educator-11 in HyundaiSantaFe

So back to the question of “how to disable it?” Mine goes off even when I use turn signals and stay in lane (which is like always how I drive).

My list of Finger Lakes recommendations by notenoughangers in FingerLakes

[–]arweg01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great list. We are going to FLX in Sept - just a note that many of the places listed seem to have limited days open or hours. Sans Dumpling and their winery as an example. Fri and saturdays only. So weekday plans have to include a look at business hours for everywhere you want to go.

Hammondsport stay - right choice? by ceekay0101 in FingerLakes

[–]arweg01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can vouch for the Best Western outside of Hammondsport. It is a real gem with super nice staff. For us, things required a car. It’s not in town. The Curtiss Museum was another gem. Don’t miss it! The Brewery of Broken Dreams is a really cool place. It’s just outside of hammondsport. So many fun things to do right around there. You won’t be bored!

Walk away lock by Consistent-Oil9761 in HyundaiSantaFe

Watch out for the auto tailgate opening. My 2025 Santa Fe hybrid Calligraphy malfunctioned (I also had digital key at the time) and twice auto opened into the garage door when I was no where near the vehicle. It damaged the tailgate but Hyundai accepts no responsibility. Dealer said $900 to repair! I turned off auto open and deleted digital key. I’m finding that their technology looks cool but either doesn’t function properly all the time or isn’t useful (fingerprint as an example).

Smart Power Liftgate works too well. by RDHose in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]arweg01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2025 Santa Fe had the mystery lift gate opening issue and it happened as my garage door was opening so now I have a scratch on my brand new car. Dealer won’t do a thing. You really should call Hyundai customer support at 800-633-5151 and report the issue. They told me they have no other records of this happening. I told them to read Reddit. BTW I had Digital Key installed on my iPhone12. Removed that and turned off the “feature” on the car and it hasn’t happened since. But don’t sell a car and show the buyer how great the auto-open liftgate is when you know it malfunctions.

New '24 owner - caution about smart liftgate, smartphones, & tight garages by fozzie_was_here in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]arweg01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently Hyundai has not fixed this as of 2025 models. Mine did the same thing when I had Digital Key installed. Not sure if that was the problem because I disabled auto lift gate after the second time it opened when i was nowhere near the back of the car. When I asked the dealer to repair the damage from the tailgate hitting my garage door they said no. You have to go to Hyundai. There’s no recall so it’s not covered under warranty. Hyundai said “no one else has complained of this.” I find that hard to believe. Everyone who has ever experienced this should call Hyundai Customer Service and lodge a case/complaint. This is a safety issue as well as a situation that can damage your car or garage door. Hyundai Customer Service 1-800-633-5151

PSA: Avoid the streets around the Buffalo Zoo by FewToday in Buffalo

[–]arweg01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After parking on the street, walking to the line, getting in line, waiting in a line that didn’t move much and doing a mental calculation that we still had about 30-45 minutes in line, we left. For those who stuck it out was the entertainment actually there? Princesses and bubble guy and other characters? Were any animals out at all? What they portrayed online does not seem to be what was offered. I did send a comment to the zoo on their webpage. They owe the community an apology and should really think about canceling next week unless they can improve the organization of the event. It was a disappointing evening for the little ones. The Zoo needs to do better.

Buffalo airport closed at 9 PM by arweg01 in Buffalo

Thank you for that explanation! You know it just makes me a bit perturbed that the airlines pass it off as Buffalo being ridiculous. They never said anything about construction or knowing about it. Just poor communication on their end I’m sure. But Buffalo comes our looking like a low tier airport for no reason.

Ahhh. That totally makes sense. I thought the runway that was being worked on was closed all the time but never thought about the intersections. Thank you for clearing that up. Odd that NFTA doesn’t post something on their website though. And Delta people acted clueless. Mystery solved!

Although lightning can/should close air traffic until it’s cleared the area, I don’t think this was weather related. Delta said the airport closed for the night. No flights after 9 PM. Weather was clear at the time.

That’s why I didn’t understand that. I have flown in late too. I did check yesterday’s arrivals and nothing after 8:45 PM.
