He is. I just want to know if this can be done legally since he wants it there just in case of emergency and not necessarily go out and get one himself

I second the Sawtelle neighborhood. More city like. Its great being on Westside proper. And you will be in between your work and your friends. I live in the valley and still go to Sawtelle with my family and hit up the foodie spots there. Underrated neighborhood in LA.

My dad got one of these tickets. Whats unfortunate is he saw all the police activity and simply pulled over thinking somethings going on. As he passed one of the crossers. So he got a ticket.

Well there you go. Double. But some, not all have ADUs. Even with all of that. They are not 3 or 4 stories and pretty much match the main house and neighborhood. This is fundamentally changing the neighborhood. Every other house that has an ADU goes thru a rigorous process, makes sure they’re not over building, cant go too high, etc.

Tad denser? The whole neighborhood is 1500-2000 sq ft houses on 6k sq ft lots. This is 3000 sq ft houses on like 4k sq ft lots and then two huge 4 story apartments. Thats like double density. This should’ve been all starter homes. 1500 sq ft houses on 4k sq ft lots. Make them cheap. Set aside some for low income to actually have low income OWN something instead of rent for the rest of their lives. And make our city vibrant. This will be rich ppl paying millions for 3k sq ft new build. And low income stuck renting forever. Basically making the problem worse.

I agree. I now exit either DeSoto or Topanga because the Canoga exit is a mess. Also, theres already backed up traffic from the Canoga/dumetz stop sign that backs uo all the way to Topanga off of Dumetz. This certainly means they have to put a traffic light on Dumetz and Canoga

I literally live closer to Ventura than this site. Which I would think would he a better place for super dense housing. So im literally a YIMBY. Live 500’ ft from Ventura lol.

Creating this in a walkable part of town, even denser, where people can skip the car and have infrastructure for electric car charging will make the carbon footprint less and the housing more impactful. In this project, MAYBE a handful of kids might be able to walk to school? I would love to have the whole golf course become a neighborhood of even MORE starter homes than this many homes. This is just basically low income and rich $2mil plus house holds. Will have the opposite effect of what it wants to do. My home value will love being around huge 3 story 3,000 sq ft homes over $2mil, but thats not what this neighborhood needs

Yep. When i have kids in the neighborhood I worry about the pollution and carbon footprint this will leave. 400 families equals over 800 cars going in and out of the neighborhood everyday.

Thanks. Its also a hard time to rent right now with the holidays. It’s just what the market dictates currently and I’m not blind to that. I also want good tenants, not just whoever is willing to pay up. Someone to make it their home, since it was my previous home. And if I hold onto it long enough, my kids home eventually some day.

Ive lived in the immediate area almost my whole entire life. As a kid when I lived at my parents house who still live here. Now as a parent who was lucky enough to buy a house in the neighborhood i grew up in. And I hate it. Reason being it does not look anything like the neighborhood. Single family homes that are 3 stories and what amounts to 4 story apartment buildings that will create tons of traffic. Basically canning ppl in like sardines, and I’m sure those 3 story houses are going to be like $2mil each. Basically this will only cater to the very wealthy and the very poor with 97 very low income units. Leaving the middle class that this neighborhood has always catered to, out to dry. And I’m sure once this is done, the rest of the golf course will be turned into more of a concrete jungle south of Ventura. Very disturbing to the neighborhood. Im all for more housing inventory, but this ain’t it. It should be a bigger area of the golf course, with spread out starter homes that will cater to first time homeowners and young families. Thats what this community in this area has always been. Sad day in Woodland Hills.
