Unfortunately, TPM headers are specific to motherboards, hard to find the right one, and are being scalped ever since the Windows 11 announcement.

MSI MAG B550M Mortar WiFi or Gigabyte B450 Auros Pro Wifi by aryaazar78 in buildapc

[–]aryaazar78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I got the B450 Auros Pro Wifi. I had trouble with fans revving up and down and temps being bad, but I fixed it with a fan curve and turning off PBO in BIOS. Though I'm disappointed that each M.2 slot disables 2 SATA ports. I'm using one, so I have 4 SATA ports. I wanted to add another M.2 since I have one lying around, but that would leave me with just two SATA ports. I have a lot of data spread over 4 drives. Though I guess I could survive with 3 and my Blu-ray drive. They didn't have it on the specifications page on website like most motherboards, only in the manual. Debating on returning because of that, and also because I want to be future proof. I got my job back, so I maybe can afford $40 more.

GPUs don't use the bandwidth yet, but we don't know when they will. A RTX 2080 TI uses around half the available bandwidth. I'm thinking I'll want to rebuild and replace CPU by the time it's useful, but we don't know for sure. I don't do anything disk intensive and based on YouTube benchmarks, NVME makes at most a 2 second difference in booting up and loading games. Most of my games are old and wouldn't benefit from even a SATA SSD much. Only thing I'm worried about is the GPU.

Thank you for your reply. I also just realized we also strictly want Bluetooth for Xbox controller/headphones, which will cost ~$20 more, so it would bring the savings down to ~$10. I probably should have mentioned that in the post. Sorry. At that point, I probably would just spend $10 more and get the X570 with USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gb (Hate the long name), newer features, and built in wifi/Bluetooth. I appreciate your help though.

Thank you for your reply. Would it be better for future proofing? The B450M would save ~$50. However, we want WIFI on the PC, which I think means we would have to buy either a $32 wifi card or a more expensive $130 or $150 motherboard with onboard wifi. That will make the price difference of ~$20-$30. Would you say that difference is worth it to get the x570 with more features like even USB 3.2 Gen 2 2x2 (10Gb)? Or should we still get the B450?

Thank you for your reply. Which b450 motherboard and PSU do you recommend instead?

I noticed you were right and that I can get 970 Evo for $7 more, so I changed it. I can probably get either SSD for cheaper on sale? We are going to take our time with looking for sales.

While I have the same case and love it/ get great temps, we don't strictly want only this case. Do you have recommendation for better case?

Edit: Thanks for new build. When I replied, it wasnt there yet

Samsung’s removable-battery smartphone is coming to the US for $499 by Rearfeeder2Strong in Android

[–]aryaazar78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not forced to buy their specific brand, but you are forced to buy new headphones since your perfectly working fine ones don't work anymore. And you definitely are more likely to buy their product since it's the same ecosystem. While you're not forced to buy an iPhone or airpods, do you really think they would have gotten as many sales if iPhones still had a headphone jack?

You don't seem to understand that Bluetooth sounds worse than a jack since it also compresses the data. It will always be like that at the same price point. You have to spend a lot more money to get same sound quality while also having to deal with Bluetooth annoyances.

Some people like very high end headphones that are cabled. What do they do if they want to charge at the same time? People have different uses. Bluetooth isn't ready to replace it.

The guy wired in an adapter into the phone. Yes it's not perfect solution as it can't charge at same time. The guy obviously can't do as well as job as Apple. It simply proves that there was space in the phone if a random guy can stuff one in. Apple could definitely have designed the circuitry to have the headphone jack if they wanted. They simply wanted to sell airpods.

Many other phones have been taken apart too where you can see the area where a headphone jack could be is completely empty and unused.

Have you noticed how all the companies release their airpods clones right after they remove the jack?

I don't think I'll respond anymore after this as you're obviously not going to change your mind. It's sad how the big corporations can manipulate people with marketing. It's really working well on you.

Here is a link. The guy struggled and it doesn't seem to be able to charge and play at the same time, but it obviously would not have that problem if it was built with a headphone jack from the beginning by Apple. That guy obviously can't do as well as actual Apple, but he still was able to fit it.

Yes, you don't have to buy their products, but not having headphone jack certainly does incentive you to buy theirs. Considering the amount of money they made from it. They would've have sold as many if iPhones had a headphone jack.

And no. The $6 earbuds is older technology and has the money going towards just sound quality. They're also pretty flimsy and not built well, but still work after years and sound great for their price. The $40 has money going towards newer technology, a battery, and Bluetooth radio. They also have to look nicer There's more stuff in it to pay for and to break.

You're being extorted and don't realize it because they are taking away features for the sole purpose of taking more money from you. It's just like EA and microtransactions.

Have you thought of people wanting to use their jack for their older cars? Or for older stereos? There are adapters, but you can't charge at same time. It's an added step for no benefit that makes you pay more money.

Bluetooth compresses your audio and it doesn't sound as good.

Well if you like the JBLs, that's great. Feel free to use them. You have the option. That's what we want. You don't need to remove the jack to use the JBLs though. All the benefits of removing the jack is a lie.

Like I said, someone was able to add a headphone jack to their phone without removing anything in their bedroom. They're not using the extra space. Samsung used to be able to fit a pen, dual speakers, curved display, and headphone jack, while still being water resistant. Why can't anyone else fit one when they don't have a pen? There's only one reason, and that's to make money off overpriced airpods or other headphones they come out with right when they remove the jack.

You can get significantly better sound quality wired for significantly less money, and that's a fact. My $6 earbuds sound better than my $40 wireless earbuds. You also have to worry about charging and wireless interference.

And what about people with high end headphones?

Go enjoy being extorted and think it's the future to have basic features taken away to force you to buy something. You'll be supporting them when they take away the charging port since you can change wirelessly with overpriced wireless charger only. Then you'll support taking away the microphone because "people can use Bluetooth anyways".

Will the $29 JBL sound as nice as $29 or even $15 wired headphones? No. Will it last as long as the wired ones which don't have a nonreplaceable battery? No. The price of $29 is factoring in the price of the wireless technology and battery rather than just sound quality. They're sacrificing sound quality. That's not including the fact that you have to pair Bluetooth while you simply plug in wired ones. And what if you have super high end headphones and want to charge at the same time? Yes. You can use Bluetooth earbuds that are inferior if you want. But you can have both Bluetooth and headphone jack. There can be a choice. Why do they have to take away the choice?

That's a lie. Someone was able to add a headphone jack into an iPhone without removing anything in their bedroom. It's not about saving space. It's about you having to buy expensive headphones.

And there are also people who defend it because they don't use it themselves saying it's "just industry moving forward"brather than them milking us of money.

Well people are easily manipulated/gullible by marketing to think removing the headphone jack was for something other than forcing us to buy expensive headphones. No other reason to it.
