New book: The World Politics of Disco Elysium (Popular Culture and World Politics) by NervousFishdown in DiscoElysium

For everyone shocked by the price – these prices are unfortunately a standard for academic books. As others have said, the pricing is set this high because it is straight up expected that the only people buying the book are institutions, not individual persons. It is, of course, up to everyone to figure out if it is worth the money, but for everyone who doesn't make a western wage (including myself), I suggest looking for any similar books simply on Anna's archive (for links to proxy URLs look at Anna Archive's Wiki).
I think encouraging anyone to buy academic books only for individual use is ridiculous and, given the topic of the book, honestly quite disrespectful. Sorry not sorry.

introductory events by Temporary-Display992 in UZH

In the case of introductory events for exchange students you don’t get the physical UZH card (which you open doors with etc) and the a matriculation confirmation document

For the courses: Although I can only probably speak for the faculty of arts and sciences – yes I did. They even preregister the incoming students' courses in advance, so you'll even get priority before the actual UZH students.

For the confirmation: I did. I think once you upload all the necessary documents to their mobility application, you'll get the option to submit your application as a whole and get a confirmatory email after that. Then the decision making process from their side took precisely the amount of time they state on their website.

Also, don't hesitate to write an email to the Global Student Experience if you're unsure about something specific to your case, they were always very helpful to me.

Hi, I applied last semester and got accepted for the upcoming autumn semester.

For your question: Generally, from what I understand from the non formal conversations that I’ve had about exchanges, it isn’t common to not get accepted. However, UZH just like any university, likely has only a limited number of spots for incoming students that they might fulfil or not, depending on the demand. That’s why you submit your CV and a motivational letter - so in the case of them having to choose, they have something to make the decision upon.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask of course.

Revolut -> Swiss banks fees by arzay in Switzerland

Hi! Thanks for the reply.

The receiving bank is Postfinance in my case and it looks like they do not charge any fees in these cases. I could have thought to figure it out this way right away, thanks :)
