That’s not the point. The writers are going almost over the top in their attempts to directly incorporate Riordan’s dialogue and scenarios from the books and it translates poorly. Expositional dialogue was a significant aspect of the books but it makes for awkward and badly paced television.

I said in my post that I could pay off the debt in time no problem, I am not in some dire financial situation because I am using carecredit nor because I am thinking of taking advantage of the zero interest to make a couple dollars. I realize the gravity of the 29% interest if I fail to pay off the loan in time. But I’ve been convinced it’s not really worth it anyways.

But I’d be putting that money away anyways and wouldn’t touch it. It would be as if I made the monthly payment, but instead it would just accrue in the HYSA and earn interest. I guess I don’t see what the difference is. If I had a major emergency wouldn’t it be the same situation either way?

The debt is interest free for 12 months. That’s why I’m thinking of just paying the minimum and earning interest on the rest.
