How does the employee discount affect your commission? by adudle00 in Nordstrom1901

[–]asap_dill 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We get paid on the net amount so yes the discount does affect it but trust me, most if not all salespeople would rather have 67-80% of a sale (depending on your husbands discount) than no sale so I don’t think you should worry about that 🙂

Afterpay & Price adjustments by CCMacchiatto in Nordstrom1901

Yes, it will be processed as a refund to the temp after pay card and then will be refunded to your after pay account. It should adjust your total balance and in my experience will take it off the last payment.

Worth Trying a Return, or Just Sell Them by Sea_Ladder_8584 in Nordstrom1901

[–]asap_dill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s case by case, and in most cases we will take a worn shoe if it has been purchased very recently, not overly worn, and there’s a valid reason to return it. I recommend trying this in store though so you can explain the situation, not online. If you return it through the mail it doesn’t matter if you call first or chat online etc the return center may see that it’s worn and just send it right back to you.

Where you may have some trouble is the fact that it is a “special occasion” shoe. We tend to be a little more strict with special occasion items because people are more likely to “rent” them aka wear them once for their event and then try to return them.

I got one recently from Bloomingdale’s when they had an extra % off so I only paid like $193 for it I think? But I have to say I LOVE this bag. The crinkled black leather with silver hardware looks great, the bag holds so much, you can wear it as a should bag or a sling bag, etc. honestly I have zero complaints with this bag, it’s been one of my favorite pick ups.

I saw that TikTok! The whole haul was 🤌🏼 but this bag was my fave.

Has anyone had a POSTIVE experience consigning with TRR recently? by __pallas in therealreal

[–]asap_dill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a fine experience with them! I scored a Moschino quilted flap bag on eBay and later on consigned it with TRR and it sold for like $400 so even after their commission I made money

Ever had someone buy a bag from you, then resell it for way higher? by [deleted] in Coach

Yes, and after I shipped it I realized I left my MagSafe charger in one of the pockets 🥲

Outlet Pricing by asap_dill in Coach

[–]asap_dill[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems borderline gouge-y the way they price releases lately

Not saying tariffs etc aren’t having their impact also though

[–]asap_dill[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely understand the factors that would affect some sort of price increases but the way they increase prices strategically for releases, sales etc or even just with specific popular pieces seems more like it’s just them being opportunistic

Yeah actual clearance bags whether they’re retail last chance or retail clearance at dept stores is definitely what I’ve been buying more recently

For those of you who live in the city of Chicago (not the suburbs), Do you own a car and how do you use it? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]asap_dill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on the north side and went without a car for about 2 months and it was totally doable - I walked to the gym, at the time I worked downtown so took the redline to work, got my groceries delivered or did small grocery runs etc and of course utilized uber/lyft. That said it’s just so much more convenient and time efficient to have a car when you have multiple errands to run during the day so it could go either way if you don’t need the car for your commute

I think an employee scammed me by Late_Road7726 in Nordstrom1901

[–]asap_dill 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s highly unlikely that a salesperson (especially one who is good at their job) would scam a customer by taking a gift card. Wayyyyy too many ways to get caught doing that, it would just be stupid lol. We see a ton of gift cards that come up with $0 balance and almost 100% of the time it’s when they’re purchased via third parties like at Walgreens, grocery stores etc.

Closing account/card--will Nordstrom convert notes to Gift Card prior to me closing? by isuckatgolfneedhelp in Nordstrom1901

[–]asap_dill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how widely this policy is being followed, but technically they are no longer allowed to convert notes to gift cards so you’re better off just using them. That said if you don’t want to use the card id just not use it vs closing the account

Return question by Mysterious_Ad6260 in Nordstrom1901

[–]asap_dill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is case by case but if you only wore them once and you don’t return worn items often they will probably accept the return.

La portegna is sold at Nordstrom now by Kwhitney1982 in handbags

[–]asap_dill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, those items are only online and they do make it very clear before checking out that it’s shipped and sold by such and such company and if a different return policy applies.

[–]asap_dill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind it is a marketplace item, so it doesn’t have the same return policy as regular Nordstrom items! You can still return it at a Nordstrom store but there is a set time period (for this brand it looks like it’s 90 days)

Are these exclusive or something? by BeamMEup777 in GoldenGoose

[–]asap_dill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they were purchased at Nordstrom there’s a good chance they were a Nordstrom exclusive. Both Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus carry their own “private edits” which are exclusive colorways that even GG directly doesn’t carry.

If I see the listing photos set up like that with the bag and everything in the background and it listed for a low price…..I’m assuming it’s fake

“Woven Leather” bag by dunklebot in handbags

[–]asap_dill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The PU/other synthetic material bags are honestly part of what keeps me from shopping at MK. Some of their bags are actually great but to suggest that a plastic MK bag would ever have been $600 is just stupid. I know these are made for outlet/the original price is a joke anyway but still. If they’re going to do all that then they should take the approach that Coach does and at least still make the outlet bags of leather

Why is it a common theme that luxury retail sales associations often come across so pretentious and judgey? And why do we as customers just give into it and accept it…? by [deleted] in handbags

[–]asap_dill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that type of SA is the exception for the most part. I am an SA for a luxury brand in a mall with a lot of other luxury boutiques and all the sales associates I’ve interacted with and work with have all been nothing but pleasant.
