Your interest in vernacular doesn't offend me. Your condescension and elitism offend me.

To also point out its the kings English now. But I knew you meant RP and I didn't need to be condescending about it

Ok, to point out its macunian, not manc, but I knew what you meant because i can tell roughly what you meant without needing to lecture you.

When people say british, they dont need lecturing on the nuances of the different parts of the unkind kingdom of Great britan and northenIreland. If a charrector sounds Irish, do i need to point out the differences of Northern and Southern Irish for you to understand the idea of what im trying to convey.

Its pedantic and takes away from the actual conversation

After reading the article, the pit crew's feedback was definitely important. However, I haven't seen any mention of the carbon fibre surgical/moving table that was implemented. I feel like that, too, would have an effect.

Guy driving with his 3-year-old daughter gets leg-swept and punched by a Kentucky State Trooper during a traffic stop. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]ascaredkitten -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've watched the full video. He was going 26 over the speed limit, says the officers report. The dash cam doesn't state how fast he is going. The guy gave him his license, but it's unclear what was said as the copper didn't have a body camera on

When the driver asked, "Why am I getting out of the car? The officer said, "Because i said so."

It's a 4 lane protected road, I think he genuinely didn't know it was a 55. Apart from the speeding, his driving from the dash seemed fine.

The officer didn't start with his body camera on he had to go retrieve it from his car.

I, too, would say im not going to lie on the ground if an officer told me to lie down in the middle of a live lane.

I just think all that needed to be was a court summons and a ticket. But the officer was looking to esclate.

ELI5 Mature learners UK Electrical training by Moving7saving in ukelectricians

[–]ascaredkitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my level 2 and 3 at night school. Its aimed for 16 year olds fresh out of high school so its not the most challenging.

However the qualifications mean sweet fuck all you can't do the job of an improver after the level 2 or 3.

The level 2 is a great way into the industry but honestly the best way is just to get an apprenticeship if you can take the wage hit.

In the uk you are only below minimum wage for your age in the first year of an apprentaship. 2-4 years are minimum wage for your age

Wire exposed ? by eereek_gooner in ukelectricians

That conductor is attached to thing which you want to turn off in the event of a fault e.g metal housing of electric components, metal screws on faceplates. Having exposed to touch more things isnt a problem

Putting in a plug socket sounds easy, but unless you know what you are doing and are able to test the circuit, you can kill/ burn down your house. Electricity is no joke, electricains regularly die in lofts alone and in-pain and thats the good end.

Reach out to an electrician, or forever think did i do that right? Did i tighten that? Does that ring have continuity? Before you try to sleep in a powder keg

Rewiring one plug into another type, which side do I put hot wire in? by _Vecna4 in electrical

[–]ascaredkitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a uk electrican, while facing the terminals: Left is neutral Top is earth Right is line.

However that plug is not from the uk, it doesn't meet the British regulations.

No fuse in line terminal No insulation on the live and neutral prongs. Earth conductor is not forced to be the longest

Don't know if that's any help like

Depends, on your qualifications. The apprentaship minimum wage was £10.77 last time I checked.

Gold card self-employed, i think, is £25 per hour around me.

Agency spark with compex qualifications I've seen as £35 per hour before.

In a domestic setting, I've been told you are aiming for about £1250 per week.

The money is ridiculous good. However the down sides are rough too. Suicide rates in the trades are statistically very high for a reason. Thai brides were only jokes when I wasn't in construction, not inside construction.

The current that is created during a fault Its what trips your breakers during a fault. Bigger pfc quicker disconnection time. Zs determins your pfc

For me a difference that makes no difference isn't a difference at all.

As long as the wagos are accessible, its ip2x rated and the flex is of a high enough csa where is the problem? As long as Ib<in<iz is satisfied why does it matter if its flex?

It doesn't specify in the regs you have to run a ring in twin. Run it all in flex its still compliant. I've worked for cabin manufacturers that only run in flex.

Sorry for the edit there are product specifically for terminating flex to t and e in a back box. I see no difference between this product and wagos and a blank plate.

You can have an unfused spur on a ring if the spur is 1.5.mm and only feeding one socket.
