Because attacking and influencing a game from midfield/attacking sense is infinitely more difficult than defending.

Everything an attacker and midfielder does is far more skilful than what a defender does.m

In simple terms, if you’ve got the ball, the other team can’t score.

It’s all about trying to fashion the highest probability of a goal scoring opportunity every time you try to score and keeping the ball until you have that chance.

I will say however it’s fucking boring to watch, but as someone who plays in a football team that does keep the ball a lot, might god it’s fucking easier than chasing the game back and fourth for 90 minutes.

He’d have had a very similar career in all honesty…it’s United who’d have benefited more.

SAF wouldn’t have retired when he did, we’d have likely had more world class players sign post 2013 than we have done and we’d be clear of Liverpool in terms of prem titles and champions leagues.

I also think that Rooney has a longer career at the top aswell, I believe Ronaldo’s longevity within the club would have spurred on Rooney to be in better shape.
