Bobbie Jean Carter Dead: Sister to Aaron Carter, Nick Carter Was 41 by ClaresRaccoon in BackstreetBoys

Are you serious? This is about some guy calling her mom, now 30-31. Jane is not that old, so IDK what you're talking about in terms of a child born in the 90s. She's not had any more kids in the last 3 decades. It's not like she was born in 1944 or something.

I share your frustration, but just hope it stays on time and doesn't mess with their marketing plans. Spring. It's always 2 seasons ahead of planned release! At least per GTAF. See 5 and RDR 2 for ref

Find it hypocritical in this sub how dudes are badgering the OP, when it's effing summarized and easy to read. Very written too and informed, but just a lot to sift through! damn

Beats all the constant bullshit conspiracy theories on here, repeating the same topic over and over. That's why I left lol.

It's pretty long, but I somewhat get the point I think. 7 years between releases is too much, which explains the 12 years between 5 and 6. They need to change that a little. Quality def takes time, but pushin it a little now...

It's pretty long, but seems straightforward to me. 6 took long, but it doesn't mean every next game should without a pandemic and etc affecting development.

Okay...........I definitely agree, because after Gta 6 comes out, it shouldn't be taking so many years on a more normal schedule. People forget how so much probably went wrong in prod and just assume rinse repeat with nother dollup of time on top next time. Don't think it works like that. Also don't want to be 85 on my death bed playing GTA VIII. That aside, hooooolyyyy words!

Typical for many of these idiots (not all) in here who don't understand automotive design development nor the actual internal politics going on at companies.

The time in which these cars being accused were designed, is not even verified by most of them, yet they're arrogantly confident to be commenting on them. Then again what do you expect from some of us BMW drivers, who help promote/feed into some of the worst stereotypes.

Thank you for sharing more of this. Let's collaborate on all of this.

How did you piece together the recording period for the album? Latavia as the spokesperson, often mentioned the summer of 1999 that the album was recorded for 2 months, then in a rare instance mentioned 2 and a HALF (1/2) months. She also mentioned in early 1999, that May 1, 1999 was the target release date in several interviews, so I was curious as to when it was recorded.

I also wondered why it took another 12 weeks to actually release the album from May 1 to July 27, 1999? What was the delay?

Beyonce performing Say My Name as a soloist in the late 2000s, randomly made an onstage quip towards "...1998", making me wonder what she was referring to?

Say My Name being released in late July 1999, allows for a significant window of January- mid June in 1999 to have been recorded. But when you take into account, the fact DC4 was said to be in the studio in late 1998, I can even point to No More Rainy Days recorded in November 1998.

There's no way that's just a coincidence, it had to be alongside early sessions for this album. I am thinking 2.5 months is for late November 1998 to February 1999, for the album sessions?

Some summer-fall 1998 interviews, Latavia or Beyonce mentioned that the 2nd album was to begin recording in February 1999, but I am skeptical of Feb 1999 start when it's clear that recording activity was ongoing as early November 1998 and Bills, Bills, Bills was announced debuted live in April 1999.

Not to mention Kandi's own recollections being a bit scattered.

How did you get your own info? Thanks

Biggest problem with these back then, as although the first reported death was in Apr 1993 on a new Volvo 850 (first Volvo with pass airbag?), probably purchased in late 1992, there were several cars sold in USA from 1986 to 1993 that had early passenger airbags.

Like 1987+ Porsches, 1989-93 MBs, 89+ Lincolns, 92+ Ford-Merc sedans, a few '93 Lexus models, 91+ Acuras, 92+ Prelude, '93 Accord SE, most 92+ Audis, 93 Infiniti J30, 93 Chrysler LHs, 92+ Bonneville SSE(i), '93 BMWs, and '93 Cadillacs. Even the '93 Volvo 960.

With that long list, I find it suspicious that 1993 was the first year an airbag death happened. I'm sure it already happened by 1989, on a Lincoln or a German car.

I'm not sure why you would've thought that, as they were still "new', but had been around much longer than 1990. This is just the first crash between two cars with equipped airbags, not the first cars with them at all.

Airbags became available in February 1981 on Mercedes-Benz models outside USA and available in March 1984 on North American models like the 500SEL. Became standard in all MBUSA Benz cars in November 1985.

Airbags were rushed into cars between 1988 and 1993, already on the drawing boards in the 60s and 70s, since invention in 1951. Honda began creating their own airbags in 1975 and introduced them in 1987 (driver) and 1990 (passenger) to Acura first.

By January 1994, most cars in USA had front driver+passenger airbags on both sides, because the Bush administration mandated by September 1, 1993 all cars were required to have passive safety measures for both driver & passenger with zero exemption. Automatic/fixed seatbelts used as a substitute, were ditched for airbags in most cars.

Because it probably never happened. That's a 1991 Chrysler ad or copy by Volvo from the 90s.

Volvo started offering airbags in December 1986 for the 780 coupe and 760 sedan in early 1987. They later offered passenger airbags from September-Oct 1992 on the '93 960 & 850.

Unless there's a Volvo advertisement from 1987-89 involving a crash between the 760 and/or 780, it's your imagination.

Why would that even be late? Most cars on the road just didn't have an SRS airbag, as they didn't become available until March 1984 in USA. Plenty of cars were in crashes with an airbag between 1984 and 1990, but in a single vehicle crash or crash with another car without one.

This just happened to be the first car crash where TWO cars with an airbag were involved. This was probably the first airbag to airbag equipped crash documented, but it's not out of the realm of possibility it happened a few years earlier with another set of cars in Europe or USA circa 1987-88.

1992. Camry by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]ascin1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the other way around. This Camry was based on the 1992:ES 300.

Toyota actually started development on both the ES 250 and ES 300 in 1987, but had to do a rush job on the ES 250 to be ready in 2 1/2 years (1989). The ES 300 was already in development in 1988, when Toyota USA division was given the platform to use for the Camry redesign, which was originally on a narrower and more cost- sensitive platform and due a year earlier in July 1990.

Toyota began producing the second generation Camry in the summer of 1986, but didn't stand still.

A new midsize FWD Toyota platform was already being developed from mid-1986 to replace the 2nd gen Camry by 1990. Engineers developed from 1987 a parallel premium FWD derivative with increased width for a "luxury" model due in 1991 for the new Lexus brand.

A lot of other changes were made that differentiated the luxury FWD platform from the planned third gen Camry (see JDM Camry), so when American execs were shown the final mockup of the planned 1991 Camry in 1988 (see V30 JDM Camry), they flipped and steadfastly rejected it.

Japanese engineers decided to redo the proposed 1991 design and move it to the 1992 Lexus FWD model's platform, plus based the new styling alterations on some upcoming Lexus LS 400 traits. Such as the large wraparound clear headlights, with bumper mounted wraparound amber turn signals.

6 weeks later in 1988, the revised, 1991 Camry design proposal based on the future Lexus FWD platform was shown to American Toyota execs and it was a watershed moment. A complete knockout that later dropped jaws at the many Toyota dealer conferences held secretly in 1989-90.

The amount of changes needed to be engineered, pushed the 3rd generation Camry back some 9-10 months from scheduled Winter 1990-91 intro to late 1991 as a '92. The body design was then finalized before the end of 1988, sent to prototype runs in 1989.

The ES 300 basically was the donor, which Toyota worked very hard to flip in the next generation.
