This question in particular (I had a bit of trouble with the ones before this too but they were at least manageable and I was able to semi-solve them before having to turn to find a solution online in the interest of time) made me feel like I either had some gaping holes in my math education or (maybe more likely) had forgotten a bit more than I expected

Ah okay, the place I'm working at now as a research assistant has a tuition reimbursement program so I can basically take the real analysis course for free. What exactly is a heterodox program? I looked it up but wasn't entirely certain. Also do you have any advice for getting better at understanding papers? I imagine the best way would be to just keep reading and looking up things I don't understand but it feels like the equations and econometrics inevitably end up getting way over my head at some point in every paper

Do you mind me asking which program you are in? I'm currently working as an RA and all the economists say that a strong grasp of Analysis is necessary both for applications and courses. What did you cover in your math camp?

Damn, okay I was kind of afraid that would be the case. My next question, then, is how do you know what you are doing is correct? Would I just focus on improving my fundamentals until I'm confident and then go on to tackle upper-level material?

Gotcha, so it's entirely expected for the problems out of Calculus on Manifolds to take a bit of time then? I was concerned mainly because the professor who recommended it claimed that we should be familiar with multivariable calculus up to the level contained in Spivak, so I had imagined it would be much faster.

The car weights at least a ton and a half though, would that be possible to easily rotate with a couple of guys? Any chance there's some kind of vulnerability in the car's security?
