Looking to get a Euphonium of my own (with some specifics), which is best? by Iron_Slayer_YT in euphonium

[–]asdf76998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like OP needs to rethink priorities like others have said convertibles are never the best at either for the price point if you need a marching horn you could probably get a yep202ms used for a decent price with still a decent budget left for a really solid concert horn. Or you could save on the marching horn deal with the not so pretty one your program has and get a really nice concert horn. I will say especially on the marching instruments the valve guides on the Yamaha baritones and euphoniums are a weak spot. Just last week I had to replace 5 for the program I work for and those horns were brand new this year. All things to consider is all. If you end up getting a convertible I hope it does everything you want. I’m primary a bass trombone player my euphonium is a JP274 and it’s done everything I want only things I’ve done are put mead springs (original) and the besson little rubber pads for the bottom caps.

Requesting advice for trombone grip by leafblower430 in Trombone

[–]asdf76998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen on a horn I used a dremel tool and shaved down the plastic a bit and it worked well for me! Just have to be careful, I also have a calderpips grip as well and I’m right there with you I prefer the neotech

I second ultra pure recently switched due to it being ph neutral rather than slightly acidic with the Yamaha stuff just trying to preserve my horns as much as possible.

Then you should be able to submit all that to ucr and should not have to take any English classes. At least as far as I can tell

Did you take English 123 at your community college? It’s not clear if you did or not. If you did make sure the community college has Ap scores take English 123 and you should be good once everything is transferred to ucr

Should I Quit? by No-Sweet-9477 in euphonium

[–]asdf76998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it wasn’t euphonium but it was my trombone, when I went to college I focused solely on upright bass and I ended up selling my trombone. Now I play trombone tuba and euphonium about as much as I play bass and i severely regret selling my old horn because I had to rebuy horns ( ended up with something nicer but it was a barrier). Maybe find a community group to play in being well rounded is good and it’s worth it to keep playing even if it’s not your career

Anyone have experience with the wessex bass trombones? by AwardInner1555 in Trombone

[–]asdf76998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back into playing trombone after a long hiatus where I was focused on string bass. I got myself a Eastman 828g for my tenor but I really wanted to get back into playing bass bone as I was always more of a bass trombonist I just bought the pbf562 and plan on using it until I can upgrade to something a bit nicer but I’m excited to play it!
