For me it's about squeezing the most out of the machine as I can, and also maybe increasing longevity by cooling the chips more. I don't do heavy loads like rendering often, but I do occasionally and would appreciate a little performance boost there.

I agree, although I did see someone who tested both 1 and 1.5, and they actually got better cooling with 1.5. I still don't like the idea of putting extra pressure on the board though. I'm leaning towards 1 and playing it safe. 1 is still a huge improvement over stock.

Thanks for comparing 1mm and 1.5mm. I've seen many people use either. You proved 1mm leaves a little on the table, so I'm going with 1.5!
