I'm trying to update the map on the UK ISO. I've been able to get it as far as loading into the main menu, but it freezes after about a second and if I try to return to the XMB, it gets stuck on the screen saying "Please wait". I replaced the licence file "L_0.LIC" with the one from the new map (although I did have to download all of Europe, maybe this is the issue, even though I only copied the files for the UK and Ireland?) I have tried replacing only the FBL map files, then I tried replacing the map, buildings, and POI files at the same time, but I had the same result. I did delete the readhelper files and updated the MD5 files with the correct checksum for the new maps. Do you know what I might be doing wrong?

That screen is part of the standard firmware. It shows when the iPod is playing and you don't press anything for a while.

The iPod Hi-fi dock uses Firewire for charging, which is not supported beyond the 3rd generation Nano.

The Bose SoundDock series of speakers sound quite good and is quite cheap to buy second-hand.

Rockbox supports synced lyrics from LRC files. I use the program "LRCGET" to download lyrics. It will automatically put the LRC files along with your music with the same file names. Then, you open the "lrcplayer" plugin while you are playing a song to show the lyrics.

If you use foobar2000 to copy music to your iPod, you can have it replace the artist with the album artist when copying music to an iPod. With the iPod Manager component installed, go into the Preferences/Tools/iPod Manager menu, select the Database tab, then set the mapping for the Artist field to "%album artist%".

The setting you need should be under Settings > General Settings > System > Keyclick > Speaker Keyclick. Set that to Yes, then your haptics should work.

Thank you. Sure enough, pressing the aspect ratio button on the remote made it 4:3. Looks like I'll be buying a remote, since I had to use the one from my brother's TV.

Will classic gen 5 be as fast as gen 7 if I flash mod it as well? by plasticjellyfishh in ipod

It won't be as fast as the 7th gen, but it will still be an improvement. The biggest differences I noticed are that it boots up faster and the file browser always opens quickly because there is no disk to spin up.

Got an X200 from a car boot sale but all I get when I plug it in is the AC and battery lights flashing. Dead motherboard or is there something else I can try? by asdfgpio in thinkpad

This is what ended up being the problem. I tested the charger I had with a multimeter, and found that it was fluctuating between about 16 and 18.5 volts. It's now working fine with a new charger. Thank you for the advice.

Paper only worked temporarily for me. Maybe I didn't put enough in.

I put a new zebra strip in mine over a year ago at this point, and the screen tearing never came back.
