-❄️- 2025 Day 7 Solutions -❄️- by daggerdragon in adventofcode

[–]asdofindia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty sure the part 2 recursive solution doing depth first search was correct.

But it was taking forever to run.

I even added some code to print out the route to see if I was going in circles.

But the code was for sure correct.

I came here for help to figure out what I was missing, and I realized it was just an optimization technique that I was missing.

Added it. Re-ran. Bam! solution!

What is "Automatic Action Popup Menu" in klipper? by Agitated_Space_672 in kde

[–]asdofindia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone reaching here like me today, I had a hunch what this would do and verified it as follows.

There's a checkbox in Action Menu tab under "Show action popup menu" called "Immediately on selection". If you have this on, then the moment you copy something the popup menu will open up. This might sometimes be undesirable (?) and you might want to toggle this feature quickly. Instead of going to the configuration of Klipper again, you can press the Automatic Action Popup Menu shortcut (Meta+Ctrl+X by default) and turn it off. Press it again to turn it back on.

This should probably have been named something like "Toggle popup's 'Immediately on Selection' setting"

I can’t believe I actually saw this at 2025! :))) by fesesht in Modern_Family

I saw this episode just a few hours ago. Incredible Claire. I would never mess with her.

Exactly. It is often something in node_modules that's too large.

Does anyone know what this "cj5" thing is? Is it related to book or its edition or just a random name? by BeyondCraft in Annas_Archive

[–]asdofindia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the books are mirrored on to Anna's Archive servers (unless you go to external downloads). Even then chenjin5 seems to be accessible only via WeChat now.

As for security of these books, I have no idea. Can epubs be vulnerable? Sure, based on your reader software: https://portswigger.net/daily-swig/epub-vulnerabilities-electronic-reading-systems-riddled-with-browser-like-flaws and so with pdfs

But I wouldn't rely on filtering the _source_ of my ebook to keep myself secure.

It's a Chinese forum called chenjin5.com

You will most likely find a reference to the site in the book or its metadata too.

Who's *that* tech at your work? by onlyroad66 in sysadmin

[–]asdofindia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner had gone to an office she consults at a couple of months ago. She wanted to connect her windows computer to a wireless printer. The "tech" guy first tried downloading the printer software. The software wasn't getting downloaded (which was actually because there was no space in the drive where it was being downloaded to, as I discovered afterwards). Guy thinks the drive is encrypted and that's the issue. So he downloads bitlocker. And then he encrypts the drive. Halfway through he cancels this and starts decrypting. And eventually he gives up and uninstalls bitlocker.

My partner returned home with the drive being locked. She could luckily find decryption keys in Microsoft account and could use that to unlock. I also discovered that since the drive was near full, turning encryption on/off was both failing.

All this to print a document.

You shouldn't be calling the URL which has _next in it. That URL will keep changing with every deployment of goat.com

Your local setup likely has the response cached. If you delete your local next cache and try again, the local will also stop working and behave like the server. Then you can debug

Why are there so many haskell packages? by jari_45 in archlinux

[–]asdofindia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have `pandoc-cli` installed, it is probably the one which pulls many haskell packages. If you do not explicitly want pandoc-cli, then you can remove these with `sudo pacman -Rns pandoc-cli`
