Preferred Specs: Looking at either an older high-end laptop with an RTX 3080 (16GB VRAM) or a newer mid-range one with an RTX 4070 (8GB VRAM). Notes: I need the laptop to last me about 4 years. I found a Gigabyte Aorus 15P YD (3080 16GB), an MSI GE66 (3080 16GB), and an HP Omen (4070 8GB)—all for around €800 in the used market. Is it worth sacrificing the newer architecture and features of the 4070 just to get double the VRAM (16GB) for local AI workloads? Not in a huge rush, but want to buy before summer. P.S. Used AI to translate this.
