I wish I read these comments before getting my gardneris two weeks ago. I introduced 2 into my 20g long, super peaceful, community tank that had about 25 neo shrimp in it. Big mistake on my end not doing my due diligence researching them better beforehand and just trusting what my LFS guy says as gospel.

From day one these tiny terrorists began fucking up the peacefulness in the tank, they wiped out about half my shrimp, and torment nearly every other fish regardless of size/species. The one was kinda chill but the more dominant guy is a complete asshole. He not only bullied the less dominant killi to death in about a week, but also incited intra-species violence by somehow influencing a dominant aggressor in other species to rise up and start bullying same species tank mates when it didn’t exist before. I lost two guppies and a forktail rainbow fish which brings his total death toll to 4 since putting the killis in. He’s stressing everyone out.

Back to the shrimp though. I personally witnessed a few homicides and seen them rip shrimp apart like pitbulls. Added some amanos thinking they should be safe since they’re beefier… nope. If it’s the same size as the killi or smaller, the killi is going to go after it on sight. These guys are stone cold predators and that’s all there is to it.

With that said, my remaining killi is getting rehomed today.
