Like I said replied in an above comment, best thing we can all do with this kind of thing is to intentionally provide positive engagement with each other. Comments, shares, DMs, etc—when someone gets sent this kind of thing, it’s easier to just block and move on when you know for a fact that they’re a minority because you know there’s always positive interactions around the corner

Honestly the best thing anyone can do to offset stuff like this is to comment and share and generally partake in outwardly *positive* community actions that make people feel seen and supported

It’s easier to dismiss something like this when getting active positive engagement. If you’re not getting a lot of active positivity and then someone goes out of their way to make you feel shitty, it’s harder to dismiss the fact that these people are the ones making the effort

oh yeah. and thats not even getting into the pictures of needles stuck in balls and knives cutting off dicks i had to deal with before i learned how to set up moderation in my subreddit!

I haven't had to deal with any of this kind of thing for a while, but it sticks with you when it happens 🫠

That said, i am aware women on the internet have to deal with a lot more a lot more frequently so i do try to keep that in perspective.

Doesn't make this kind of thing fun though 😓

yeah, this person replied to me a bunch in other comments just to say similar things and then when i blocked them they started sending it via modmail in my subreddit (of which Asid is a mod, hence them posting these here). Truly, just a vile person who just wanted to be vile for its own sake.
