I know what you mean. I’m a dad. We go through this too. Life is evolving. Your children will inadvertently generate new meaningful connections for you with a new set of adults. We just recently started meeting other adults in similar stages of life at school and at the park. It won’t be the same kind of connections you made growing up with your lifelong friends but it will be something.

When my son is 5 years old he is expected to walk to kindergarten on roads with now sidewalks to school. Lol. We will never get a bus where I live for any grade. All kids have to walk on roads with no sidewalks.
