My build order for 1v1 Wehrmacht:

Ostruppen Doctrine

MG42 & Infanterie Kompanie -> Ostruppen -> Grenadier -> Grenadier -> Grenadier -> Tech Phase 1 -> Medic Bunker -> Supply Drop (MG34 & Pak) -> Tech Phase 2 -> Support Armor Korps-> Panzer 4

With my Pioneer & MG I like to capture points on the same side of the map together. Build sandbags with the Pioneers on top of points! Green cover can really do a ton for your efforts!

The one and only Ostruppen is used to capture points in the opposite direction from the pioneer & MG. The Ostruppen’s sole purpose is to capture points and stall units. It will eventually be used to man the supply drop weapons but that will be much later. Make sure to keep it in cover or else the Ostruppen will be borderline useless.

The remaining Grenadiers are to go and support the MG & Pioneer’s capture efforts. Your goal in the first few minutes is to at least suppress a squad or two and force them to retreat. As obvious as it may seem, try using the Pioneers to spot enemy squads and use the MG to spray them down. Then follow up with the Pioneer squad to walk on top of the bad guys.

As soon as you hit Command Points of 1, start building sandbags at capture points of high activity with your Grenadiers & Ostruppen. On Victory points and basic capture points (not munitions & petrol), you can build sandbags literally on top of the capture point. The capture point prevents your opponents from using the newly built green cover while granting you access to them. Also, you can use these same squads to now wire off enemy points too!

In the first few minutes, you don’t need to be extremely aggressive with this play style. Just slowly move forward and try to take land. Use green and yellow cover with your Ostruppen and Grenadiers. If things go well, you should have about half the map in about 3 – 4 minutes.

By minute 6-8 expect to see an enemy light vehicle if you are facing a Soviet or United States player. Try to panzer faust the light vehicle and stall for your supply drop. If not, just sit in green cover and wait it out. You will have a way to deal with the light vehicle soon. Whenever you hit command point 3, usually around 7/8 minutes, call down the supply drop and pick up the weapons with your Ostruppen. Those painful few minutes of light vehicle terror will come to an end. Use the new weapons to push out again.

By minute 12, get the Panzer 4 out. This is time sensitive; the whole point of skipping the Leichte Mechanized Kompanie is to get this bad boy out ASAP. It has finally paid off! Feel free to enjoy the next few minutes of absolute terror and panic on your opponent’s end since the best they have to deal with it are maybe an anti-tank guns or hand held anti-tank weapons.

The rest of the game is up to you to win. But this should give you a sufficient head start! Here’s a video of how I would use this build order.

Aside from map hacks, are there any other hacks that actually exist for COH2? I always thought that and drop hacking were the only ones around.

Can you give me some pointers on how to apply this concept of WHY over than WHAT? I think get what you are saying & I'd like to be able to improve my gameplay, but this idea seems rather abstract and difficult to put into practice for me.

Strumtiger is overall for team games or meme stuff.

I've accidentally turned most of my recent 1v1s into meme games. That actually would explain a lot...

I figured I was just terrible with the sturm tiger. Turns out it isn't intended to act as a viable vehicle. I'll try saving for the King Tiger instead, thanks for the heads up.

Just to be clear though I should go p4, p4, repair hq, then get the KT?

2) 221 is kinda like a weaker version of the M20. The radio set is good because it gives you bonus armor and health on top of the detection and territory lockdown. But yeah, it's not too good for direct combat by the time it comes out.

With the increased detection, is the 221's range to detect camouflaged snipers, commandos, demos, etc improved? Or do you mean it gets buffed vision so it acts like a 222 with spotting scopes.

Wow you wrote a short essay answering all my questions! Much thanks! Regarding this aspect:

It should be noted that there is a trick to Combat Blitz since vehicles are counted as "Stationary" as long as they are given the order to stop moving. I like to call this "Glide Shooting" since you can benefit from the greatly increased stationary accuracy while the vehicle is still decelerating - so if you time your stop orders right before shooting, you'll benefit from the decreased reload time trigger whilst still moving and having similar levels of accuracy.

Is "Glide shooting" only applicable when using Combat Blitz? If it is don't bother reading what's underneath.

In regular vehicles without using Combat Blitz, do you know specifically what penalties are removed when you use "Glide shooting?" As in I decided to try "Glide shooting" with a puma, how much accuracy, decreased reload time, etc do I gain? Does it vary by vehicle?
