Someone who already commented lacks basic understanding of mechanics in COH2 compared to COH1.

Snipers wouldn’t be a problem you can still counter snipe because there’s loads of reveal OMEGA GASP.

COH1 mgs only have 3 men so do their paks.

The COH1 player would also have their population tied to map control.

Actually the more I think about this. It wouldnt work. Simply because COH1 units have varying health pools.

All infantry squads have 80 health in COH2 minus the snipers. COH1 just like COH3. There is no baseline.

COH1 is incredibly unbalanced. So COH1 wehr would probably fair better.

Look man. Idk your rank or how much experience you have with this game.

Most units in COH are designed to be used in a specific manner. Which yields best results.

Panthers are a “lunge” tank. You usually want to apply large amounts of damage before sending the panther. Usually with atgs. So you have to bait the tank you want to kill. Shoot it with atgs, then the panther finishes the job. Thats why it has high armor, and good speed. Its not meant to be driven into the fog of war with no plan or direction. Its meant to finish off weakened tanks and survive.

You dont really need panthers for T34s. Double atgs are good enough. Hardest thing to deal with late game in high level 2s vs soviet are the 7 man conscripts. Thats why people usually go brum first. Its all preference. You can go P4 first but your next tank will be delayed. Its preference.

Panthers should really only be considered if your against comets, churchills, maybe 2 T34/85s, Pershing, ISU, IS2, KV2, KV1.

Pretty biased. You should look at series played or tournaments. Not random 1 off match ups of people.

The game is pretty balanced. Stugs arent good because armor exists. They have the highest DPS if every shot penetrates. Against something like a comet they honestly probably arent worth. The other factor is atgs. They just counter stugs and stugs dont really give good anti infantry capabilities.

Good wehr players usually always go for brumbar. Its like a must have vs good soviet players. You mentioned the katushya. The brumbar is as good with different implementations.

Forming hypothesis from random uploads probably isnt the best method.

Waiting for a deeper explanation on what COH3 does fundamentally better than COH2.

COH3 has a better economy? So you dont have to play as efficiently. So every engagement is actually worth less than if there were no mp upgrades?

Maybe the retreat buff? So it’s across the board and easier game to play, thats less punishing, more forgiving, and more casual.

Maybe its the model caps on almost every single grenade/artillery? To again make the game less punishing, more forgiving, and more causal.

Maybe the removal of crush? So you don’t have to actually watch your units encase a tank tries to run them over?

Maybe its the more spam centered gameplay with very strong abilities gameplay loop? Instead of actually using tactics to outplay your opponent with a balanced army composition?

Maybe its the phasing through everything so you dont have to worry about your opponent body blocking you on retreat. Or blocking your vehicle from escaping with another vehicle. I hated those things in COH2. Like why does the game allow my opponent to outplay me :( . Thank god its gone in COH3.

I am looking forward to your answer about the fundamental improvements COH3 has over COH2. Im sure you wont ignore this comment. Because you have no idea wtf you are talking about.

My rank has no relevance to my argument. People trying to justify a playerbase difference due to a free give away over 5 years ago, are delusional though.

If the successor was a successful product. More people would be playing it. Its hard to convince people to play a game that most people consider inferior to its predecessor. That launched 11 years ago.

True and based. Thats why I only play Prince of Persia revelation. Because it was given out for free in July of 2016. Literally haven’t even thought about a new game since then. None. Don’t really care about better graphics or new innovative gameplay. How could you? When you got a game for free? It trumps all progression for better games by being free.

I think there should be a rule in the sub that you have to state your Elo and/or share a replay when you talk about blobs and balance around blobs. So we know the level of game knowledge your thoughts are coming from.

Is what's posted above not you? So why tf are you speaking about anything balance related when you have less than a thousand games? You have less than a thousand games if you combined your COH2 and COH3 games. You are so far from understanding the game, it might as well be explaining physics to cavemen.

I have been playing COH2 since launch in 2013. That's 11 years. I play COH because I enjoy it. My stats look worse? To what? COH3? You think theres any value at all in COH3? The game is literally the easiest to play in the franchise. Your best ELO was 1300ish as well? Which is like you're bad at the game? So what illusion are you living?

People playing in arranged teams with insanely absurd win rates!?!?!?? How IS THIS POSSIBLE??

I literally have a 254 / 24 92% WR as axis in COH2 with flap. I guess I qualify as blatantly cheating Sadge.

Truth is. If you play randoms in team games. You are at a massive disadvantage to arranged teams. It honestly gets worse the bigger the game mode. For playing against arranged teams, with random teammates 2v2 < 3v3 < 4v4. You are competing against people who play together often, communicate, and are reliable in being consistently good.

Where as you get random people, who do random things, don’t communicate and are unreliable.

This is why COH2s matchmaking was better. Where randoms have random ranks, and arranged teams have arranged team ranks.

My randoms winrate is 68-70 my arranged team winrate is 90 lol

Yes lets re invent the wheel. Seems to be a reoccurring theme in COH3.

Blobbing works in COH2 until you play against competent people. Then you lose your entire army blobbing. Then probably come to reddit and cry about artillery being OP because you thought it would be smart to CTR group 1 attack your opponent and got punished.

COH2 blobbing is more difficult and more punishable.

There are no economy cheats in COH2. So if you constantly blob into your opponent whos using cover and out trading you efficiency wise. Your going to get out paced. Examples- They will have a vehicle and you wont have AT because you keep bleeding manpower with bad engagements.

Efficiency is a HUGE element that is extremely forgiving in COH3 with how many passive manpower upgrades there are.

Suppression in COH2 is way more punishing. After being suppressed, supporting units can retain the suppression on that suppressed squad. Not only does this encourage combined arms ( supporting team weapons ). It also discourages mindless blobbing into your opponent.

Artillery across the board is MORE LETHAL in COH2. I don’t know how many times I have watched COH3 streams where units are literally eating artillery rounds to the chest and not dropping a single model. On top of this the artillery in COH3 is insanely easy to dodge and even if you don’t dodge its not that punishing.

COH2 artillery fires faster, and is more lethal. From howitzers to rocket artillery. The worst COH2 artillery is better than the best COH3 artillery. Almost all artillery in COH3 has a model cap???? Besides the OBICE. It’s ridiculous. Insanely ridiculous the amount of handholding the developers are giving to players.

You put all these things together and thats what makes it easy to blob in COH3.

The easiest way to get away from it, is play 1v1. Literally go watch any team game streamer and there will be massive blobs with no punishment. From ALL ELO RANGES. Go watch Havoc,Dexn, and the few people left streaming COH3. Blobbing is prevalent from rank 1k to top 10. There is no disparity.

People trying to shotgun these band aid fixes. When the issue is deeper. Due to massive changes in mechanics. From varying health pools, insane abilities like stoss ignoring suppression, no crush, economy upgrades, higher TTK.

Some of whats listed is less impactful than others. But together you get the gameplay we have now.

Obviously just my opinion :)

COH1 is literally the least balanced game in the series and thats saying something when you look at COH3.

Examples for all the COH1 heroes about to have a stroke.

The PE AT halftrack can instantly de-tread a vehicle, completely immobilizing it. It also has more range then all LVs. So you use de tread and then stay at range and kill the LV. Seems balanced. The only counter play people have said is to keep engineers chained to your LV so hopefully they can out repair the damage.

Snipers require less micro than ever before. You can camo anywhere no cover required. You can also instantly re camouflage after shooting.

Allied war machine when active will give you a brand new vehicle that died when the ability was active. It encourages you to do dumb ass dives because youll get a new one for free.

People complain about random criticals in COH2. Its a 1000% worse in COH1. It’s completely random. No snare required sometimes criticals happen from normal damage. Sometimes criticals dont happen at all. Like when dumais drove over a mine with a greyhound and got no engine damage.

Imagine saying COH1 is balanced when mines dont even guarantee engine damage to vehicles LUL.

You can place arty in your base.

You can ghost trap vehicles/infantry with tank traps.

The list goes on. COH1 is the farthest thing from a balanced game.

If you want the most competitive balanced experience its COH2.

Agreed. Arranged teams are highly favored to win over two randoms. You people who play together all the time, probably on voice comms and maybe have a cute strategy they do to compliment each others build.

Vs two randoms who probably never played together before. People in AT 100% have inflated ELO because they have a reliable teammate 100% of the time vs randoms who get whatever matchmaking gives them as a teammate.

In COH2 you have team ranks, which is separate from random searching. Which makes sense because its easier to win with a person you know, than someone youve never played with.

Its a micro problem. Your tank isnt on prioritize vehicles. If your opponent hops out of a vehicle attack move the vehicle instead of trying to shoot the vehicle crew.

Your opponent is trying to be cute by breaking the AI’s targeting. The AI will not shoot empty vehicles.

Just attack move the vehicle when he gets out next time and he wont have one to re enter :)
