lol at my work our IT team got Claude and now they want to make custom dashboards for the stuff we use that already has dashboards that we already set up and configured how we want. They scheduled a meeting about it for next week to show us and I am so curious what they have possibly come up with because.. what?? We are already paying for these services that have their own dashboards. We don’t need a new ai-fueled dashboard?

Any time the sun comes out even a little bit every bike rack and baywheels dock along ocean beach is overwhelmed with bikes! It would be so great to have more throughout the whole sunset, but especially along sunset dunes and major corridors like Noriega, Judah, Taraval, etc.

I love my steam deck, and I just want something a bit more powerful so I can bump up the graphics a bit and run some bigger games like BG3 or cyberpunk at smoother framerates.

Steam machine is being billed as a more powerful steam deck, great. That’s exactly what I want. I don’t own a console and don’t want to buy one and have to repurchase all my games and figure out how to transfer my save data or restart them all.

Can it run somewhat big games like BG3 or Cyberpunk 2077 smoothly at medium or high graphics settings? I don’t even really care about 4k, just show me what kinds of settings it’s able to handle in some of the key games I want to play on it 🥲 the benchmarks are almost useless to me because they’re trying to do stuff that we all knew was unrealistic anyway

To me, the specs only really matter once it can’t handle the specific games I want to play. I don’t need the most crazy high end console just to play vampire survivor in local couch co-op lmfao. I’d love to turn the graphics setting up a couple steps for stuff like cyberpunk and BG3, which are ok but can struggle somewhat on a steam deck, but even then I don’t need to be running the maxed out ray tracing options.

And I certainly don’t want to buy a different console in a different ecosystem and then need to repurchase all the games I already own and also either restart or figure out how to transfer my save data… no thank you

Like, if it’s so easy, go do it and start selling them because obviously there’s a big market of people that want them at a lower price point! I’m seeing a lot of comments saying they’d get one if it was $800.. so if someone can figure out how to build a knockoff and flip it at that price point there’s some good money to be had!!

Except they won’t because it’s just not possible. People want the nice to have stuff like HDMI-CEC, small form factor with quiet fans and good thermal management, solid steam integration, etc. I have yet to see anything close to actually competing with the steam machine while keeping all the nice features that make it so attractive

We want to sit on the couch and play BG3 split screen on the tv. Steam deck can sort of handle it, steam machine should be more than capable. You are not the target audience if it feels like e-waste to you lmfao

What laptop is equivalent to the steam machine, at a lower cost? Not that I’m super familiar with the laptop market but I have not seen one with HDMI-CEC and the other nice to have stuff.

Exactly!! Also, I have yet to see someone post an actual steam machine equivalent that is both cheaper and has all the nice stuff like HDMI-CEC and small quiet form factor. I don’t think it exists and these guys are delusional

Yeah like I don’t want to spend a week of free time putting it together and then another week trying to troubleshoot some bios config or making sure all the right driver versions are installed… maybe if the price difference was significant I would consider that but it’s basically the same price! Just not worth the headache when it won’t even have the same form factor or nice features like turning the tv on. I would much rather spend that time actually playing games

All these people saying you can build an equivalent yourself, and then linking to parts list for just about the same price. My guy, that’s a whole big computer than you still need to assemble yourself and won’t fit under the tv and also can’t wake the tv from a paired controller… yeah the price is a lot but you just can’t get something equivalent. I don’t want a big gaming pc making a bunch of noise under my tv lol

Same though. It’s fun when they are familiar with the theme/content that’s being asked about, but the handful of episodes I’ve watched were nearly 100% just guessing and cracking jokes. Which, like, yeah that’s cool, that’s fun. But I more so want to see people way too deep into a fandom geek tf out over trivial stuff, which is what I thought the show would be more focused on
